We're going to see a lot of changes like this as the legacy media structure continues to lose its hold on the global attention budget. There will be multiple layers of major consolidation, and dramatically reduced budgets.

Fortunately, the variety of content will increase, and some of it will be higher quality than the average big media piece, as smaller teams create passion projects. Overall budgets will shrink, but advances in technology will (hopefully) allow the production quality to stay relatively high.

They don't want people using it while plugged in. They care more about how that would look antiquated than they do about convenience.

Important to know that Roku has an "adjust frame rate to content native rate" which, insanely, is off by default. It will make up frames on all content by default if it's less than what your TV is capable of. I just got a new LG C3, and this was making us nauseous until I figured it out. I thought it was the TV, but unbelievably it was the Roku.

I was so confused by this yesterday. I want to see the number of ratings compared to the average rating. That's how I know if a large number of people have tested this product and reviewed it properly. This system seems designed to hide that. You have to open every product to see that info.
