Very cool product, please keep at it. Feedback: scrolling feels tedious. Please allow holding space key + mouse click and drag to move around the board (similar to how most design tools handle this).

We did this at Loom (W12) and it was one of the most powerful things we could have done as a team. Internal comms became much more streamlined as a result and it was usually apparent to everyone what we needed to work on next.

Does anyone have a rough estimate how much a manned mission to the ISS currently costs?

Good start! I just wish this change would be happening for the right reasons, e.g. that privately held prisons are creating a false incentive, an incentive to be more profitable by having more prisoners and thus the creation of a lobby for such thing.

This argument sounds a lot like blackberry vs iPhone to me tbh. I frequently use tablets and yet setting brush size was never great, hot keys being the blackberry. I am very excited about this device, which feels like the right next step, the iPhone.

Fair enough. They are cold or better 'neutral'. I'd take cold and neutral any time over judgmental and degrading.

I am one of the lucky ones as well and have been treated with respect every time. Sometimes I even had insightful conversations with border control.

However, along the increasing rejections of visa for highly talented people + more and more stories like this one are signaling a very very bad trend.

I have noticed both among my peers: visa rejections for founders with funding from US investors, befriended founders who are being pulled into second screening every time they enter the country, my co-founder being rejected to enter the country once and now also being pulled into second screening every time (despite having an O1 visa). It's degrading and simply horrifying. And most definitely not a good trend for the US.

This is a very emotional topic. I get sad and angry every time I read or hear a similar story.

I cannot speak for Russia, but Germany cultivates a fundamental mentality of liberalism and respect, for any kind. It will be very difficult to find someone in Germany that wears a badge who has less than 13 years of school education or acts unreasonably, disrespectful or doesn't play by the rules.

Good point. We thought about this as well, however solving this bug this way we wouldn't be able to continue background uploads every time the iOS7 'reboot' bug had occurred, which was fairly often.

It's a trade-off between user experience and security. As soon as Apple fixes the reboot issue, we'll increase the security level back to kSecAttrAccessibleAfterFirstUnlock.

If we had known that the bug was caused by reboots though, we probably would have saved some gas as well.

It's an opt-in feature, well described in the app and per default turned off. We are however implementing the new iOS7 background uploading processes as well.

The reason Loom saves space compared with iCloud is that Loom stores your original photos entirely in the cloud, and not on your device. Loom caches smaller versions of these originals on your phone for fast browsing, organizing, and sharing, and then you can quickly access the originals if you choose.

Everpix is a great service and more affordable than Loom, but the main difference between Loom and Everpix is that we store your files in their original size and resolution, untouched, so if you ever need them, you can get them. Additionally, Loom supports RAW and video uploads.

Thanks! We built Loom for iOS first simply because on our team we're all iOS users and we wanted to build something we'd love ourselves and resolve our own frustration with photo management. From here on, we can use all the great feedback and build something great for Android, etc.

To add a photo to more than one album you can use the 'copy' function. But yea, it would be easier if you could select multiple albums in one process.

Yes, deleting an album will delete its photos. We have a recovery function on our side, but no display for users yet. Will add it soon.

Also, we don't have a way to re-upload photos yet, also very high on our priority list!

And for #2 yes, we are aware of this situation. We know startups seem risky. We'll do our best not to disappoint anyone. Even if we had to migrate servers at some point, our product is designed to avoid going through an awful process (in particular, Loom isn't an enclosed photo library such as e.g. iPhoto)

There are features that set us apart from other products, but most importantly - following our desire to build something fast, intuitive and where you don't need to change your habits - we wanted Loom to have the potential to become the default photo app. One example: we learnt that most people have some kind of structure for photos (folders on an external hard drive, etc.) and they would like to be able to preserve that structure. We give users that option with Loom.

Yes, we're aware of Apple's restrictions and they make things difficult for developers. However we have found and applied some tweaks to make the experience of getting your photos and videos into the cloud easy, transparent and 'unconscious'. We're also building Loom to be better at browsing, managing and sending photos than Apple's Photos app - once you use Loom as your primary photo library, things fall into place.
