You can still get a long exposure by accumulating many 1/5,000 exposure shots together. Just like a regular long exposure, this will still cancel out random noise and improve SNR, and also still has the tradeoff of motion blur. This kind of accumulation is commonly done in photography-adjacent technologies like spectroscopy.
Regardless, I agree with your larger point that the proposed system would be entirely impractical!
Flock is such a scummy company. One must just read a bit of the coverage from 404 Media [1] or Benn Jordan [2] and get a whiff of how this company is handling pretty legitimate criticism about privacy and basic device security.

Same. It looks like battery replacement from ifixit is not too difficult, so I plan to do that when the time comes.
Incidentally, I just switched to Asahi Linux, but that was for software quality and openness reasons, rather than anything to do with performance.
The new rules will be incorporated into tzdata, which is used for various operating systems, software libraries, etc.

I’m with Freedom Mobile in Vancouver, currently using a rather old iPhone. My next phone will probably run GOS.
I have issues with Freedom on my iPhone too. Poor signal, or else “good” signal but poor data backhaul.
Are you pretty sure your issues went away after going back to stock Android? Or is it possible it’s just Freedom Mobile’s general issues?

Been self-hosting for over 15 years for both personal and professional email, including clients. Currently using docker-mailserver. The claims that deliverability is worse when self-hosting are greatly exaggerated. It's not perfect, but it's certainly no worse than Gmail or Google Workspace for business.

There's also OVH which is French-owned (I think) but has some Canadian datacentres.

But when you say "the second way" are you counting from zero or from one?
Curious how you have all this set up. This architecture makes a lot of sense but it seems a bit fiddly to set up. Do you manage routes, IPs, and ports manually or is there some magic docker thingy that facilitates this architecture?
Personally I currently just use DDNS for stuff hosted on consumer connections (AKA home lab). And docker nginx-proxy to multiplex various self-hosted web apps (either in a home lab or on a VPS).
