Sounds great. What would you do in those 15 mins a day exactly?
selected three books that I love, two out of three recommended books are childrens books. Weird.. My selected books obviously were not childrens books. Maybe because I selected Dutch books?
I had the same thought but it is not possible. I installed as blockers on my PCs, SmartTubeNext on my Android tv and finally YT vanced on my phone
Do it! This summer I started waking up daily at 6 am for an hour of uninterrupted time of thinking and prayer before my little ones wake up. It's great, I'm so happy I did it and plan on doing it forever. I find myself enjoying solitude and silence more and more. Craving it sometimes, almost. My mental health has improved a lot. It's like I never understood how much my brain needs the quiet alone time without any work planned.
That's funny. I'm Dutch too, and it was a big part of new years eve in my childhood. We watched it every year and loved it. I don't think I got the final joke about the 'procedure' that happens upstairs after the dinner :) I always thought that almost all Dutchies had the same experience but maybe I was wrong
Check out ATG split squats
I write C# three days a week. Is learning vim worth it?
What happened? Sounds like an interesting story
you can only put a single link in your insta account so its a quick and simple way to link to multiple pages from your insta without building a webpage for it. It's used a lot, so in that sense it's a game changer
I sure will check it out. Thanks!
This was my inspiration. I even call my project Composer of Babel :)
I was under the impression that birds have no sphincter so they can't control when they poop. Is this not true?
I'm working on a tool that could generate all possible melodies. It's just a fun side project to improve my skills, but if I ever complete it I will put it online.
It creates a unique id for Every Melody, but only generates and plays it when the corresponding page is accessed. So I wont generate a huge library of mp3's or something.
I totally blocked Reddit in my hosts file. If I really need a post work purposes I go to Google translate, load the post and click 'see original'. Such a hassle that I hardly ever do it. YMMV.
I think its funny that we both stumbled on a similar approach
This is something of all ages I guess. In the Bible (written thousands of years ago) they use 'eating bread' as a synonym for having a meal together.
I use the supermemo software. It works great for learning but the software itself is a bloated mess
Check out the chord Melody guitar course at improviseforreal.com It Will make these relations very clear and help your playing a lot. Source: happy customer myself
That sounds amazing. I'll check it out. Does anybody if there are similar books for the original languages of the bible?(Hebrew and Koiné Greek mainly). Of course there is the added burden of different writing systems. But maybe someone came up with a clever solution for that too :)
These are amazing! I wonder if there are prints available. I would love to have 'Lothlorien in spring' on my living room wall
I just started going down this rabbit hole myself after seeing a video of the Dactyl Manuform split keyboard. I'm thinking about getting one now. Is there someone on HN who works fulltime on a split keyboard? How does that work out for you? I suspect the Dactyl is very comfy but i'm not sure if that still is the case if you use it full time. The Iris looks great too. So if you have experience with that I would love to hear it too.
I've been thinking about doing that with the video lectures recommended by Teach Yourself CS [0] but I was afraid I would miss too much by only listening. I drive for two hours twice a week so it would be a great way to pass the time and learn something at the same time. Did you ever try it with a complete lecture series?
I use the DISC personality model a lot. Sure, it’s a simplification but a very useful one. It’s about four personality types: Dominant Influentual Steady Compliant It helps a lot in understanding the behavior of people who have a different personality than yourself
What constitutes good reading to you?
Exactly this. Scary stuff
I second this
The same note can be found on different strings. Sheet music doesn’t tell you which one to play. That just one example that makes it hard
Just finished it yesterday by coincidence. Amazing book though Some of the violence was a bit too detailed for my liking
I would ask where I could be useful. Bore-out is bad, I think it can give you real mental health struggles
Very True! I play guitar but i’ll never be a Tommy Emmanuel. I don’t care, I play for the joy of it :)
