The tech industry took essential human things away from regular people and sold it back to them as metered services.

Social skills, friends, short term memory, dating, sex, intelligence etc

Tech intentionally exploits regular people for its own gain, intentionally breaking peoples brains for techs profit.

In short "tech" doesn't care about anything but the "bottom line" its the same as the military industrial complex- people break, people die, genocide happens and we empower it... who cares we're getting rich.

No one sees the faces of the military industrial complex but tech CEO's(the faces of the industry) proudly smile for the camera's and rub their billionaire lifestyles in the publics faces.

In short people hate the "tech industry" because it has taken everything away from everyone while enriching a few- and its all public.

Like others have already said- just disable the memory function- if you are hesitant about doing that- go read the memory file(profiled you) it has made on you.

You have the right to remain silent, the profile your LLM has made about you can and will be used against you in a court of law.

Having dreams tethered to physicality if you are not physically gifted(Snowboard champion) and/or dependent on gate kept power structures allowing you in ("famous" film director) are dreams built for disappointment if you don't meet the required pre-requisites-

This is why the realms of art and creativity are great substrates in which to plant the seeds of your dreams in-

IF your dreams are to make/create things nothing can stop you these days except yourself with all the tools and knowledge available now- you can't control the outcome after you've made the thing- but the happiness and joy comes from the excitement of the happy accidents on the journey and the pride of completion of course-

I'm an artist/filmmaker/animator/dev/musician and the best moments of my life are still from creating things that almost no one sees- they get no acclaim- they win no awards- almost no one cares- but that doesn't matter as the joy comes from the creation- I'm happy with the works I create-

If your dream is to write a book, write a song, make a film, make a game, create a piece of software/useful tool, make a painting etc- the skill and budget required for these things is lower than ever-

That is not to say it has been cheapened- especially with "AI" tools-

Idea is always king- always use your original ideas- never "AI" suggestions and the things you make are yours, forever.

Absolutely ZERO of my dreams will be unlived, except the project I won't finish because I will die while it is progress- so I'll die happy anyway doing the work I love (shrug)

TLDR: make realistic dreams that depend on your willpower and creativity not your physical attributes and you will live all your dreams except one.

Remembering which ones are FIFO and LIFO helps you remember what is what for etc

But yeah- had to read an article and a book- I hated most of the Unity youtube tutorials- enough info/help to get you going but they leave you stranded in the woods without a path out because you were blinding following someone else when you walked in.

Better to read/learn and understand the small bits yourself slowly as they are the breadcrumbs that lead you out.

Something like that- I'm an artist/creative and was working on a (Black mirrorish)story years back about this, thats were the thought comes from- a related ransom system would also be built into it- would create an offshoot of Defi known as DeathFi.

They've already used prediction markets to bet on peoples death as in the case of Sinwar from Hamas. It seems like all the pieces are there and moving into place- I'm just an artist/creative imagining things though(shrug)

Yes I do think we should be compensated for it, and we are- when we talk of compensation that usually refers to money- I'm referring to other forms of compensation-

I feel compensated on a spiritual level for my work- I do other things for money and my art can stay "pure" in a sense-

It's said that if you "sell your soul" you are unable to ever "buy it back"- so why sell it in the first place? Just so you can try to get "rich" and attempt to buy it back later because you are soulless and miserable? Doesn't make sense to me.

Maybe art is something higher? A higher cause? I was really inspired by the Rudolf Steiner book "The arts and their mission" early in my career- worth looking into if you are in the arts.

For filmmakers- smart phones + cheap video cameras + free video editors + youtube monetization create what from my perspective is human made content slop. So to me slop is slop- it doesn't matter if a machine or a human "made" it. It's all slop and it all sucks haha.

Grifters will always grift- curation is what is important to sort through and ignore the slop- maybe there will be some systems with special fingerprinting algo's to "find" original human made non slop?

I do agree with the original artists work being disregarded but I think that has more to do with the aggregation and the lack of curation that is not motivated by $- as an unknown artist creating original work for 20+ years I'm optimistic about permission-less donation supported AI curators digging up unknown creative works and sharing them with humans.

Sure- as the AI is trained on the work of humans- so if someone had an idea "inspired by ai" its really just saying they were inspired by humans anyway- for me personally I'll never ask an LLM for "ideas" though-

No I don't see it as theft- in that I choose to not be a part of the formal film industry- I don't "monetize" any of my work- I have nothing that can be stolen but my aesthetics- but aesthetics are dead imo- they no longer have value- as an artist my ideas are what is valuable- and no ML/AI etc can "steal" my ideas as I haven't thought of them yet- my art and ideas are an expression of my soul- no machine will ever have a soul so I'm not threatened one bit my Ai etc

Native speakers are the ones doing the re-writing of the lyrics in those languages. The ai tool just converts the say Russian singer voice into different voices.

Hey thank you and I'm sorry I didn't see this comment sooner. I've been making/releasing original weird stuff for about 20 years now

"AI" is just a tool like any other- creatives will use these tools to make things they couldn't make before because of the limits of their budget and/or scale-

I just made an original animated feature film where I sang %75 of the roles by using an AI tool(audimee.com) to convert my voice into others- I couldn't do that before- we're now creating Portuguese and Russian language versions of the songs with a tool that has a $20 usd/month subscription! Couldn't do that before!

For creatives/artists- As long as we don't use AI to generate ideas we're good, human generated ideas are a must- bring on all the AI tools!

The whole built on theft thing- as a human film director I could rattle off endless examples just in cinema of human directors "stealing" premises, sequences, shots, styles etc from other filmmakers with no consequences- so why stop the AI now?

I see the "theft" as being democratized now- large studios/entities with large resources have always been able to legally "steal" so with these AI tools I guess we all can now?

I make original animated films, games, music, art etc etc and I feel no "threat" at all from AI-

I feel the opposite as I'm excited to see what things they will allow me to do next as a micro-studio with limited budgets but unlimited creativity.

Aesthetics are dead now imo because of generative AI as anyone can be any "style" so now it is all about ideas- original human ideas.

I loved Hotline. It was one of my favorite things on the web back then.

I chatted with/shared resources with other film/video/animation/audio types on a few great specialty servers back then.

Have never found anything else like it since besides Retroshare for functionality but the UI/UX in Hotline is far superior.

Just finishing an original full length musical- I wrote all the music and lyrics using my human brain and Reason software. The only AI tool I use is Audimee.com to convert my singing voice into 8-10 other singers for different roles + harmonies in the musical.

Back then it felt like people were trying to be useful and to make things/places that were useful in some way to other people.

Now it feels like people are making things/places mostly to use other people- they stopped viewing people online as "people"- now people are "data" to be "monetized"

The various art forms/entertainment has also become "content" to be "monetized"

All of this has made the modern internet very cold and boring- everything has been corporatized.
