Vote: NO - FB will find a way to monetize, but the engagement will decline.

And in Germany. Whats a good proxy to see it anyhow?
Does not really work. Because it just renders stuff in an iframe. But actual devices behave quite differently. For example an ipad fools the website about its pixel size. So it renders very different from how its displayed here.
For example meteor.com fits nicely into my ipad and even into my android phone. But this page makes it look like it does not fit at all.
Also tried other sites and had the same effect. Sites that have no magic css/js to cope with different screen sizes or devices. They work on the devices and not on this website.
What means the "d" in those formulas?
When I type in "day" i get:
"Oops, Lean Domain Search's search algorithm failed with this search term."
The article refers to changing the world and is illustrated with a photo of Ghandi. I don't know about you, but I get a strange feeling when Ghandi is used to illustrate the values of a company that is exploiting poor people to make toys for rich people.
yes, the choices work now.

firefox nightly on debian
My experience:
1) I click on "change profile picture" 2) I hover the options - that breaks the layout 3) I choose "change bio" 4) Im back at "change profile picture"
This reminds me of a startup mantra from the 90s: Eat like a fly, poop like an elephant.
So far there is nothing. A website with a music player and a share-on-facebook button. But the blog post sounds like Andy already turned this thing into a billion dollar company and now bows down to the mere mortals to share the wisdom he gathered. On his heroic journy to fame and riches.
Looks like it worked to the extent of self-destruction.
Who is the target audience?
1) Chat doesnt work here. Im on Firefox 7.01
2) I see a guy and he looks like hes chatting with someone. So I probably see the wrong stream?
3) When I switch, only the text switches. The video stream stays the same.
In other words: Nothing works.
Normaly I would not answer someone who calls my writing "bs". But since its a public discussion, I want to get the facts straight:
I pay 42% taxes on income.
I pay medical insurance on my own.
I dont have unemployment or retirement insurance.
From the numbers people seem to put in their gross income.
I would find it interestin to see how much is taken away by the goverment for different salaries and locations.
In Germany, the government takes away roughly 50% of your income.
what is "benefits"?
Im not from the USA, so I wonder what "Twitter paying $120K on average" actually means. After Taxes etc, how much of what the company pays will end up in the employees pocket to actually buy sutff?
What surprises me is that you want to earn some extra cash while you are already have a (i guess) fulltime job. What impact would the extra money have on your life?
> just hire a good accountant > find a good travel agent
What, no more Web 2.0? Back to the old one-on-one consultations?
It looks like it also is all about making more money over there.
You got an URL for that?
Maybe something like a ycombinator/reddit/jig/listry clone? What are the options? I like the design of www.jig.com a lot.
Lets start something!
What would be a good name?
Where did you do "that hostel thing"? Also in Europe? Do you have some examples of hostels you stayed in?
Interesting! You say you invest: Do you invest in the stock market or in startups?
I would like to invest in startups, but I have no idea how to find them.
Living out of a backpack - would love to hear where you are traveling! Isnt it lonely to travel fulltime?
