I am an IT guy working in Sales right now. I like the challenges in sales and I am inclined towards a goal oriented assignment just like this.

so when u say free tier level are you referring to linode or AWS ? because I do not see any free subscription on linode and I am still browsing AWS. Can you please let me know what you are referring to since what you suggested sounds like a good idea to me.

why do i have to signup to know who much it costs to subscribe. I think it should be apparent on the home page.

@hkarthik I understand getting trapped in the ecosystem. That is a choice I would have to make if I am going into .NET.

By the wall probably it is the Visual studio IDE that is making the learning process easier for me. Probably that is what it is.

Thank for chiming in @jbigelow I am on Pluralsight and that is a great resource indeed. However, since I do not have any VB programming experience should I start learning VB first and then get into ASP.NET ?

@apsurd Thanks. Appreciate your response. Yes I realize what you mean by getting involved in a complete application. I set out to achieve the same but ever so often I try to choose a language to learn and then I just cannot grasp the concepts.

I keep figuring out should I learn Java first or should I go back to C that I learnt years ago. This is where I am stuck and I needed help with.

@wh-uws I meant that I have tried my hands at coding but I succumb to it and give up feeling I cannot grab the concepts and the system admin stuff I have no issues with but although i could take system admin as a focus I feel with being an admin I cannot create something of my own and thats what keeps me going back to learning code. I keep switching languages and I believe that is what is screwing the efforts up.
