My Twitter verse is filled with people making websites with thousands of pageviews from ai generated content. Google obviously is turning a blind eye to this possibly because they are planning on something a lot bigger than chatgpt with ai. And when it happens the internet will be littered with ai generated content that it is impossible for anyone to accuse them and them alone for stealing content.

I stopped donating to Wikipedia after I learned that they were the organization behind the "Chimp selfie" lawsuit. I understood that my money was not going towards keeping the servers on, but instead in defending frivolous lawsuits like these.

In all frankness, I have no interest in letting Wikipedia die either. I just feel there are enough people who donate today that makes it easy for the foundation to do stuff beyond just keeping a Wikipedia on. Will probably donate again if their contributor pool ever shrinks.

I was single and unmarried in 2008. Was working in a startup that made an innovative new kind of ads (SMS ads!!). Was laid off and spent the next year building the next TechCrunch. It flopped, of course, and I moved back to a day job later. But I would have never made that move had I not been fired.

My personal circumstances are different today and would not make such a move now. But if you are young and financially-covered, you should see that as an opportunity.

In India, the butcher shop is mostly owned by Muslims, and this gives the perfect opportunity for these "protectors" to round up unsuspecting people and steal their money. Every company with even an ounce of asset has at least some part of it lying in real estate. Corporate real estate is going to be the biggest loser if WFH becomes the norm post-covid.

Email providers in general, and GMail in particular, is not as sophisticated as we like to believe. There have been so many instances where people I have been talking to for several years get randomly thrown into the spam folder.

Interesting. I typically hit the decision maker or their boss - so when I get a no, I know there is no one else to seek.

Some people also reply with a sterner 'no, don't reply again'. To them, I do not even reply with a 'Thanks, no problem' message since I'm scared they will mark me as spam!

I do a ton of cold outreach, and in my experience, the difference is in the way you communicate.

In each of my follow-ups, I mention that I am reaching them because I did not hear from them the previous time, and ask them to reply one way or the other.

It communicates to them that if they just reply a 'No', I would stop,

Also, I do not persist forever. My follow ups are always 4 levels deep, and in the final mail, I make sure I tell that it's the last one and I won't send another one.

So anyone like OP who's delaying it simply because they are busy tend to reply.

This is a bad idea and one that is going to backfire. The Indian variant of Covid is already spread out to over 44 countries, and although we don't have conclusive evidence yet, it is being suspected that the current crop of vaccines are not very effective againt this.

In the past one month alone, more than a 100 medics (who are all fully vaccinated), have died - albeit due to a different vaccine and higher viral load in their workplace.
