If anyone isnt aware, Fedora is currently the GOAT OS. Don't knock it until you try it. Everything just works, and it works like the Platonic form of a desktop should.

If you are only looking at objective metrics, Apple is always going to perform at B and C levels.

If you are looking at fanaticism, they are A++.

They are best in class for marketing though.

What are people using CPUs for?

I mean I have a crappy 7 year old CPU that I use for single threaded dev, and it works for 99% of cases. In the 1% of cases, I threw on multithreading and its fine.

Now my daily driver has a GPU and it unlocks new possibilities.

Its been over 10 years since I've really spent time thinking about a CPU.

you will be very hard pressed to find ANY bugs or glitches. Like you have to hunt really hard to try to find them, they are usually an extremely polished experience.

LibreOffice is downright terrible, please do not lump it into a problem of OS replacements. I'm 100% convinced there is some M$ plant that deliberately makes the GUI bad. I still use it, and I use Google's.

I've done stuff like this. Actually made me socially isolated, I had a few close friends, but lost my acquaintances and people I was familiar with.

Psychology is insane. And I'm still offended that the packaging/initial presentation was 10x better than the actual phone. The actual phone(2018) felt like I went into a time machine 5 years prior, less features, buggy, slow. Within 1-2 weeks I felt cheated.

For lawful things that aren't targeted by major attackers, almost everything you said is fine.

For things that are high value or targeted by major attackers, you spend the extra effort on physical keys or a better authenticator system. I can think of a few methods that would make it quite difficult by adding multiple layers. A determined person with a gun might be able to get it, but even then, I have some 'traps'.

For me it was:

Company A is 2.5 hours of drive time

Company B is remote

lol I imagine that Company A will find some sucker, but instead of getting A+ workers that can realize company B> company A, they are going to get the leftover workers, their second choice. To be fair, leftover workers seem to stick around at a company for 10-20 years.

Windows is not the future. Sure there will always be someone supporting windows, but its a dead end for daily drivers.

Forgive me for not remembering the name. Stable Diffusion also has an MJ style where you just say what you want and it makes beautiful piutures.

You cant customize basically anything but they look great.

Midjourney now seems to have far surpassed them in the image generation front.

What? Have you actually used either? MJ is just a ultra-fine tuned model with a few layers to prevent stuff from looking bad. Stable Diffusion has their own 'single shot' version, maybe someone remembers it, I played with it for 1-2 hours. Everything looks great, but I want hyper specific stuff in my art and I'm never getting that with 1 shots.

Heck, I did a few flyers and used some icons I made with img2img + inpainting + controlnet. The work is completely stunning and scalable. That is never happening even at an individual level with MJ.

Its completely obvious Apple has some sort of mind control going on. Its insane to see society is okay with this.

I shutter at the idea of using another Windows Operating system.

Imagine booting your computer and having to give an email to login offline.

Then you click on a link and it auto opens through edge, "DO YOU WANT TO IMPORT AND GIVE US YOUR PRIVACY?"

Or imagine you try to uninstall some microsoft app, it doesn't let you, you try to remove it thorugh the registry but the top 10 results on google are outdated with a different windows.

2 hours later, your computer reboots automatically during a windows update. Everything is turned off, you are dealing with autosaves, you re-open your browser and tons of tabs open slowly.

Finally you save some files in your local documents pictures folder, and start getting nagged about not having enough space in OneDrive. No big deal I don't use that. Lets delete OneDrive. Oh my god I lost all of my files.

I find it interesting that 'through the flow of information' I spent years on the Greeks, only after 8 years of philosophy I found modern stuff that was relevant to my interests. Nietzsche and Existentialism.

Really makes me wonder if those in Power, have an interest in teaching Virtue based philosophy to intellectuals, and de-emphasizing modern stuff.
