Glad to know it's windows and not my fault. My boot time went from 15 seconds to 30-45 now. I used to be able to reboot my computer and by the time I'd gotten a drink or tied my shoe it would be back to desktop. Beautiful. Now it's slow as hell.

They broke the TOS on purpose and are now crying about that Apple actually held the line. I think Apple is way overpriced too, but when you go into their ecosystem and profit on it - you have to play by the rules. If you break the rules, you get removed. I would expect the same treatment on any app store.

They should have some option if voice recognition fails like 'Would you like to send this diagnostic voice memo to apple to further improve the user experience ?' that way you'd have a choice if for some reason you were discussing confidential information, I'd send it in 99% of the time. Most user leave that diagnostic shit on by default.

You could easily solve this problem by converting a small portion of major parks into homelessness crisis centers. Somewhere for people to sleep safely, with facilities, and resources for reintegration. Everyone blames the homeless though, they will rarely vote to actually help them but seem content to assuage their guilt by dropping a dollar into the can or praying for them. As if that helps.

Amazon can eat that loss without batting an eye. If it's resellers, etc, I'm not sure how the situation would be remedied. I think cancelling the orders would be fair, because some small camera shop can't be expected to eat the same losses as the #2 multinational retailer. While I wish I had gotten one of those cameras, as 10kUSD would completely change my life, I can understand both sides I think...

If it was Amazon it would be the best PR for the next prime day you could think of. People will be scouring the site for these kind of deals next year.

Why don't these people just buy one of those power efficient i3's and throw it in an old PC case ? Seems like a lot more power and flexibility compared to using Rock64's. My 'nas' is just a headless linux computer with a bunch of drives in there. My only complaint is that 6 HDD ports aren't enough. It can stream HD video to multiple devices at the same time no problem which I feel like would choke if you tried it on the Rock64.

You're also smart and disciplined, key ingredients that most drug addicts are missing. Meth is absolutely terrible, no arguments there, but what ever happened to personal liberty ? I don't need the government telling me what to do...

(that made it sound like I use meth, I do not.)

I've been on Xaxax 9 years, without it, I would be dead. I only take it infrequently though (10-15 days a month ?) so I can't comment on everyday usage and increasing tolerance. It does bother me quite a bit that my doctor only lets me be a functional human being approximately half the month, but, I'll take what little solace I can get. On higher regular (everyday) dosages seizure and even possibly death is a real possibility if you go into withdrawal, so I suppose I see where people are coming from. It doesn't make me feel any better the rest of the month though....

I suppose that's why I am so interested in these one and done kind of drugs, who wants to take a pill every day just to feel normal ? Nobody. I think the new study of these psychedelics (mdma therapy, psilocybin (especially), ketamine, dmt and their derivatives) really needs to be looked into so people can break the chains of the other medication they are on and live full happy lives.

This seems like a terrible thing to campaign on. There are plenty of other more important issues to deal with. Maybe not everyone, but most people I talk to absolutely love Amazon and the convenience it offers them. Definitely not going to win in the court of public opinion.

I think when you say users become "greedy" it's that they don't truly understand the depth of the problem they want to solve. It's not that they are in a true definition sense of "greedy", but ignorant about the cost vs benefit analysis. If if was explained to them it would take 20,000 man hours to solve their issue, and then it would put them out of a job, most of them would clam up.
