Yeah this seems overblown. Custom GPTs can already make requests via function calls / tools to 3rd party services.

The only difference I see here, is the UI shows you when a function call happens, but even that is easy to obscure behind a 'reasonable sounding' label.

The expectation should be: If I'm using a 3rd party's GPT, they can see all the data I input.

This is the same as any mobile app on a phone, or any website you visit.

The only real 'line' here in a cultural sense might be offline software or tools that you don't expect to connect to the web at all for their functionality.

Right that's what I mean, it requires "fiddling" to resolve. I think these could both be solved with a larger context, where you could include a style guide.

to back up the author: I'll use ChatGPT with the GPT4 model and it mostly just works by simply asking it to do what I want, the same way I might ask another person.

The main constraints I see right now are around 1) complex projects that don't fit into the token context, and 2) keeping up a "base prompt background info" to describe the general purpose of your program and the technical stack.

Issues I've run into:

1) Sometimes it will do things in a "bad" style and you need to correct it. For example overusing callbacks in code that should use async/await. for JavaScript.

2) Subtle errors around types that the vs code compiler can catch and enable you to fix

3) It doesn't seem to consider execution time, so I've seen it produce wildly inefficient code

if you've ever watched over someone's pet you might agree with the OP more easily. They've never met you and they still know when things are supposed to happen better than you do.

Seems like a win for artists who oppose generative AI. Now those who use AI to claim a copyright are "put on notice" to clearly disclaim the AI generated portions of their content.

It will be interesting to see if Prompts themselves could be copyrighted, since presumably humans came up with the prompts.

Ask yourself: are there any industries where commodity products are only sold with 'pomp' that could be stripped away to offer a more barebones accessible product?

does that really work? inflation is a backward looking metric and interest rates are forward looking.

this is just about making a prediction of the future.

if you believe that inflation will decrease then your guaranteed rate of return from interest rates is great.

if you believe that inflation will increase or stay the same, then yes we have "negative interest rates"

I don't think it's reasonable to call it a "real" interest rate, because I can't buy T bills against it and it has no guarantees
