How is OpenCloud a serious competitor?

Will I be able to freely move between EU countries when I own such a company or will Germany tax 340% of the average profit of the last three years for doing so as they do now? People with German GmbH are essentially unable to move anywhere.

There are always companies profiting from war. When ypu sre one of those, take the money, work silently. But being loud about being proud to be part of a war… this is just disgusting.

How is the experience in practice? What works, what doesn't? Are updates prompt and regular?

This is exactly what I felt the last two times I was in the US.

Shift has more products to offer. They also have a slightly different concept. For example, the batteries are compatible across device categories (put the phone battery in the tablet keyboard) and the make sure that only ONE type of screw is needed for the complete phone. They also have hardware kill switches on their devices Shift is more or less a non-profit (their type of LLC/Gmbh has a special status) and they have a broader opinion on what „fair“ means.

This was obvious shortly after the Cybertruck was presented to the world and it never seemed like a smart move to let it on the road the way it is.

Book trips from European websites in the future. Prices here need to include everything upfront. Which might lead to situations where you reserve a hotel room in the USA for 1500, but then only pay 1200 at checkout because the remaining 300 are the "resort fee" that will be paid at the hotel. Or take car rental: the cheaper, more complete packages for the USA are often booked in the EU at at better price.

The crazy thing is that as a business owner (GmbH/AG) you can’t even move to another EU country any more since 2022. As the owner of such a company it feels like I have become a slave of the government.

Aside problems with Musk it has to be said that the model lineup of Tesla is poor by today’s Euopean standards. We have lots of models and brands available in all sizes, luxurious and expensive to small and fun. Tesla was a great choice in 2019, but now it is just one among many and it doesn’t boast a great design or interesting imterior.

Currently re-visiting and re-describing old tumulus tombs in my area where the last survey was decades ago and where no current description exists. Also, I found tombs via Lidar maps that have been unaccounted before and I am cataloguing them. All that as a hobby and as a member of an association of local history.

It has far less potential to be sold in millions than the Model 3. The cybertruck is built ignoring certification standards in many jurisdictions (no way of legally drive on in Europe). Then the design is super controversial. Compare that to a Model 3 that is sold worldwide and that has a design which is acceptable to many.

Libreoffice Draw is an often overlooked application that I've been using for years to create one-page/two-page designed documents. It has become quite powerful over the years.

Also, you might want to have a look at the open source "Scribus". I never liked it too much, but it gets a lot of jobs done.

On a related note - what is 10x less? Usually people mean 90% off. Wouldn't 10x less be the following: list price is 1000$. You get a rebate of 1$ and then pay 999$. Then you get a really good discount, 10x of that and then you pay "10x less" while still pay 989$?

Aside effects of the Ukraine war, it feels like the bill people actually pay has not risen too much in recent years. Germans famously do not have air conditioning in their homes and most switched all the lights to LEDs, leading to substantial bill reductions in many cases. Electricity for cars or for heating can be obtained at about 25% lower prices and modern houses are, in general, quite energy efficient. So I'd say that the high energy prices are hindering the construction of new factories/keeping the old ones (which can turn out to have bad effects soon), but everyday life is not too much bothered by them.
