They've been abysmal and borderline criminal since the start.

Touring musicians do it if venues don’t have convertors.

Is a fascinating theory I’ve been following for several months. It certainly feels truthy, would be great to have a little more hard science backup.
Never used a screen protector, have been using iPhones since iPhone 3G, never shattered or cracked a screen.
I started using a silicone case with iPhone 6S as found it was slippy. Have a leather case for iPhone 15 Pro but considering going naked again.

I also discovered that dehydration was a migraine trigger for me. I tend not to get big headaches now but get quite intense visual aura / disturbance.
Interestingly I also discovered that electrolyte supplements were also migraine triggers for me.
Leading me to think that electrolyte imbalance was the actually trigger. Caused by too little water increasing the concentration or added salts increasing it.
I tend not to feel thirst very strongly and think I do often confuse it with hunger.
I pay loose attention to urine colour as a gauge and make sure I drink plenty, kinda robotically when playing sports / walking in heat etc.
Well clearly it is complicated as this comment thread shows. Many people don't feel thirst because of age or other reasons or confuse thirst with hunger.
Dailies were a vast improvement in comfort and convenience for me over permanent lenses that required cleaning and storing overnight.
Permanent lenses had also led to some blood vessel overgrowth due to lack of oxygenation.
Using a new pair everyday does make quite a few tricky problems go away downside being slight extra cost and extra plastic pollution.
Passkeys work very smoothly with Safari and Apple Passwords.
Apple Passwords now sufficiently good to replace 1Password for me and I’m slowly transitioning.
I don’t mind subscription models per se but there was something about subscription for your own passwords that made me refuse to jump the fence when 1Password switched to that model.
Would be a bit faffy if you’re a Chrome user.

I thought the second and third books were also great, but different flavours, he didn’t just repeat.
The second goes for more of a horror angle and has some incredible moments. The third is one of the most ambitious books SF novels I’ve read. Blurry and confusing on purpose, which is a fine line to tread (reminiscent of the latter Jeff Vandermeer Southern Reach books).
Recently went to a book reading and Q&A for his new one Shroud, really smart and humble chap. Deeply into his research.
Also, notably, he wrote a book a year for 17 (one seven) years before being published. And then it took 12? more novel before he had a hit with Children Of Time. He didn’t seem to have a shred of resentment about that which felt remarkable and and incredible example of perseverance and enjoyment of process over result.
A fourth Children Of book is imminent.
Cline is great in terms of VS Code integration but was costing me about $5 an hour in API tokens working on a small two page next.js webapp.

There was loud rave music & ravers having a great time, ie it was a rave.
Raves happened in secret and in the open. I went to both kinds. Pros and cons to both.
I went to my first rave in 1991 in Sheffield City Ballroom. There was plenty of raving indoors and in clubs in Sheffield and Leeds in the early 90s.

Have used most browsers since 1993. As an end user Safari is not comparable to how IE was.
Safari has been my daily driver for a decade. Clean, integrated well into MacOS. Just works. I only have to crack out Chrome for the odd awkward website that’s usually terrible in all sorts if other ways, apart from poor testing. Like a bad bank.
This is the hard problem of society. What to do with the % of your population with that are capable of being conned by charming, but obviously bad tragic lying narcissists (Trump / Boris Johnson) or have some fundamentally anti-human streak like racism.
Perhaps it isn't so much that we're sufficiently far way from WWII now that people have just forgotten the dangers, more that we haven't been explicit enough about the red flags and lessons offered by people like Mussolini, Hitler, Stalin (and then Mao, Pol Pot etc).
It's no surprise that strong men usually go for educators first.
One problem is that most people just don't really examine what's going on, either because they don't have the time, skew gullable, are generally trusting or don't have the relevant critical faculties.

A Fire Upon The Deep, shortly followed by A Deepness In The Sky (which is even more page turny but kinda requires AFUTD.
Across Real Time is also great and shorter.
Children of Time series a slog? Wow. It’s a page turning spine tingling, rip roarer. Stuffed full of high concepts, great characters and wry humour.
As is the second book. Which kind of adds a horror slant.
The third book is more ambitious and conceptual and in parts, slightly harder going. Still highly rewarding.
Best hardish SF series I’ve read in recent years.

It’s more complex than that. A major reason artists don’t like Spotify because Spotify shows the number of track streams and regular listeners. This has a huge negative effect on many artists mental health.
Artists signed to Major label’s might get <20% of Spotify’s payment (often substantially less than that after the various spurious desuctions). Indie labels frequently pay 50% of net profits though.
Spotify’s rate per stream is certainly low. And they are in no way artist friendly.
(I manage artists).
Humans are not directly owned by other humans seeking to make a profit from them (any more).
