When I meditated a lot, I was able to sit in a cafe and listen to 3 conversations without switching and be able to understand them and remember them all. It happened to me few times. Also, once, sleeping in a tent, a voice from a dream interfered with sound of raindrops and became distorted and I woke up scared only to quickly get what just happened.

I understand first example. That's one of many, tiny, little things in the area of automation, say like 'advanced scripting'. Your second example is indeed advanced.

What I can see myself trying to do is some new ways of working with body of text notes. Local RAG for chatting with documents is also interesting.

And yes, with 'subscription based computing' shreds of privacy we had are gone.

Can you list some useful things you can do with such models which are beyond 'fancy' use, like image generation, or standard chat (which is subpar compared to frontier)? I use my RTX4070 (12VRAM/64RAM) mostly for STT, though I am having real trouble to set up working environment for any Whisper derivatives after migrating to Fedora.

1. on A9 near nurnberg we caught a ride with a musician from munich (he played trumpet and showed us his music when i asked if he had any recordings in the car). it was heavily raining and it was late in the night. as we were approaching munich, he got off the highway and i was worried how we were supposed to get back on the highway in the middle of a effing night, but he just drove home and we stayed overnight. we ate breakfast together with the whole family (wife, kids) and he drove us off to the nearest autobahn entry on his way to the conservatory (he used to teach there) - we were going south, to italy. that's first top of my head, surely there is more. good times. we connected, big time.
