There are still bugs in the compiler as well as in optimization that can be created. The only thing stopping bugs in production are unit tests. That's exactly the same as with AI-generated code as well.

I don't know why people keep saying this. I don't believe code needs to be reviewed by humans. Are humans infallible? I think 80%+ of code is basically human slop. Do we review the assembly language that is generated by compilers?

I think given where AI-generated code is, and where it's going, all we need to do is test the outputs, basically turning us into QA. As someone who loves to code, yes I find it distasteful, but we don't get paid for our code, we get paid for our programs. I prefer being paid.

If you want to write beautiful code, you can do it as a side hustle at home, but I think very quickly, this is what our industry is turning into. In January, someone told me that an expert told him that software engineering would be dead in 3 months, and I scoffed at the time, but now I think it's pretty accurate. There's nothing to indicate that this party is "far right" at all. It's a populist-based party but the stance on immigration is definitely linearly correlated to the violence that was brought in by immigration. Lowering politicians' salaries and free dental care doesn't sound very far right to me.

All the doctors and medical professionals were forced to get vaccinated in early 2021. If something went wrong, the very people that we depend on could have suffered mass casualties. And many of them did suffer from effects from the vaccine, even though they likely had already contracted COVID beforehand and a vaccine was unnecessary. This is the problem with mandates and anti-science thinking.

The trials missed the fact that younger males under 40 have a material increased risk myocarditis from the vaccine. And when reports of that started coming out, the media and "medical establishment" fought against those reports and said the people who were saying this were "anti-vaxxers". Burning memory for a pure memory/RAM service like memcached in today's environment is not going to work given the price of memory and especially for larger customers. This is false. You can prompt it to only make changes that will have a material effect on the performance. You can create performance tests and have it run the test after every change and if nothing changes then back it out.

Then you add an agent that goes through the code and simplifies it. Before every sprint, you get the agent to simplify whatever it can without losing fidelity.

There is no such thing as technical debt in the age of AI. It's just a series of migrations that take minutes to come up with.

I migrated from two disparate databases using AI and it took minutes for it to write the migration code. I had it double-write the data, and then I told the AI to write code to compare between the two databases, and I then tested over the course of a week.. I fixed some small bugs, or more precisely I told the AI to fix the bugs and it did.

Then once I was satisfied, I switched it so that the new database was primary and the previous database was secondary. Then I tested to make sure the data was still in sync. Then I switched off the previous database, then I removed all traces of the previous code.

It was simple and relatively quick. The thought that there exists technical debt in this age is absurd. One person can do things an entire team used to take in a fraction of the time.
