Thonny actually does this on the basic raspberry pi install. It launches into a basic mode with big tablet like buttons and then you can click "Advanced Mode" and it goes to a more normal Windows experience with drop down windows and more options. On a personal note, i've found thonny to be the easiest way to get started with raspberry pi pico development. Conversely, I been seeing more people then ever riding, building and modifying electric and motorized bicycles. You can modify a regular $200 mountain bike with a $200 motor kit from amazon and have a $400 motorcycle that you don’t need a motorcycle license for. If you really don’t want to burn fossil fuels, a $1000 bafang mid drive ebike kit can turn a regular bicycle into a hill crushing monster and can be installed with almost no specialized tools.

The housing crisis is definitely a tougher nut to crack, but I don’t believe the auto manufacturers have quite the same leverage over the American population long term, especially if gas prices and electric vehicle prices keep skyrocketing significantly faster then inflation.

Decino is amazingly prolific. I'm not sure I know of another creator that has the depth and breadth into a specific category of gameplay as him. Over the pandemic there were some creators that started going deep into playing various Super Mario spins, but Decino is almost on anther level. He has been churning out Doom play throughs regularly for the last 3 years, and he really goes into the theory and code of how Doom works in his yellow background videos. Very impressive YouTube channel.

There are RP2040 based boards with wifi are starting to come out. While they aren't horrendously expensive, they are double or triple the cost of a regular base raspberry pi pico model.

On amazon in the US you can get either a 12,000 btu through-the-wall AC unit for about $700 or a 12,000 btu wall ductless mini-split(heat pump, so AC and heat) for about $850. For either of those you can find models for cheaper or more expensive. I just chose general middle of the road prices. So the cost is no longer 5x, the prices are becoming a lot more comparable for heat pumps vs regular ac units. Also, if you check out the efficiency ratings, for most mini-splits these days, you'll make up the cost difference in your electrical bill vs a run of the mill AC unit in the medium to long run.

I'm not that big on FPS games. When I play Nintendo I generally play things like Mario Party or Mario Kart. A friend recently gave me an Xbox Series S, and off the top of my head I couldn't think of a single multi-player party sorta party game. I'm sure there are plenty of these games, but they definitely don't have the same type of draw as Mario.

I agree with much of your sentiment, but a top down approach with government regulations is absolutely necessary to assist with stopping harmful emissions and pollution. It's extremely difficult to tell everyone to walk to McDonalds to not waste gas and to not grab a plastic straw. Most everyone will not follow through with those requests when McDonalds is quite literally giving it away straws for free and gas vehicles are so readily available. But if you force McDonalds to use a recycled paper lid that doesn't require a straw, and force their suppliers to deliver those products with electric vehicles, and we force car manufacturers to only produce electric vehicles: then we can stop the emissions and waste generation at the source. People will have no choice but to take more green options if thats all that is available to them.

I got an Avaya Huddle Cam, like the kind in many large enterprise conference rooms for $200 off amazon, its plug and play and has all sorts of zoom and pan features, HDMI output, stereo microphones and is 4K and because its Avaya, and regular folks dont seem to know about them, they're not really more overpriced then normal because of the pandemic or shipping. Also got a $35 Monoprice branded usb microphone does quite admirably. My co-workers have complimented me that it sounds very clear. The best part is that they are all plug and play and work on Linux/Windows/Mac with no additional downloads or drivers.

    To deter using QuickServ in production, it runs on port 42069. Hopefully that makes everyone think twice before entering it into a reverse proxy or port forward config.
