I've also been working on a free book about the XZ backdoor called 500 milliseconds. However, unlike this author it is entirely human written. A first draft is ready and I'm aiming to publish in a couple weeks

They can give me as good a guarantee as any search engine can that they pinkie promise they aren't selling your data. What keeps me with kagi is the quality. It is night and day using it and using other search engines. Even if they sold my searches, I'd still use them in a heartbeat.

I believe cloudflare only blocked archive.is on their "Families" filtered dns. I've been using their normal 1.1.1.1 and haven't encountered any blocks.

As far as I can tell, this seems like it's impacting all of their Glasswing partners too, so no mythos for them either
