Amidst all the recent fervor surrounding law enforcement and privacy, I think the documents at the linked site are a good reminder that there are people in law enforcement working to protect the innocent.

Nothing special. Elementary school kids use them every day.
I'm on one of their pre-paid plans with a Nexus 4. I don't see any DNS hijacking and tether occasionally without issue.
I'm in the Midwest and the coverage is good in urban areas (HSPA+ and good voice). Voice at best in rural areas though.

The funnel metaphor has always thrown me off. IRL I don't pour stuff into a funnel and expect less than 100% of what I've poured in to come out the other side.
Why has funnel become a synonym for filter?

I think this is one area where dashboards can help. Chart the metrics that are important to your organization, and prominently display them.
Chart the number of users on your site throughout the day. The number of times they do X or Y, that your app enabled them to do. Put a big counter on the wall for sales/new users/etc. Make a big deal when milestones are reached.
Bug trackers, user complaints, etc can definitely weigh us down. But hopefully there's some encouragement in the data that we're doing some things really right.
I have a six year old son with this same fascination. Sometimes I'll walk into my home office and find some mailer with a QR code sitting there waiting for me. His inquisitive mind just has to know what the phone will do with the code.
Geonames data + geohashing.
Regarding party mode, every photo that I take is not worth sharing. I'll often snap 2-3 trying to get one that looks halfway decent. I don't want to automatically share the poor quality ones along the way.

Yep, agree 100%. I've been telecommuting full-time since 2006. It's not just discipline to work though - as someone else mentioned in this discussion, you've got to pull yourself away from work too.
So discipline and balance, really. Pretty fundamental skills for success, but maybe not skills that everyone applies at home?

As soon as they defined that 1000 char limit, they set a hard edge. The use cases that hit that limit are then the edge cases, at least in the minds of the developer(s).
I was just suggesting that there should be more consideration of how software will be used in ways that hit limitations.
I think this is a good reminder to thoughtfully consider how we handle edge cases.
I know that I often treat edge cases with the least care. This is certainly a situation where the opposite required.

I use 'watch' to continuously run my suite of unit tests. I write a new test, it starts failing while looping under 'watch', then I write code to make it pass.

To my eye the tabs in Chrome make more sense visually too. The tabs appear connected to the document being viewed and not to the address bar like they do in Safari.
If you ran a single CherryPy instance, I don't see how that is possible. The Python global interpreter lock prevents a single process from making use of multiple cores.
I guess hackers shouldn't fat-finger or forget their passwords once creating an account, but I'm pretty sure some user named 'dowski' did just that. Maybe he's not a real hacker, but he'd like to login again. So I'd like to request a reset password feature or something.
