The thing that confuses me is the name of this site. Start up workers became hackers then get to be smug because they overspent $$ on a shiny turd?
I can understand smugness from those who contribute/maintain (what I understood by FOSS community), I don't understand the entitlement money brings.
I'm sure it must have been terrifying but overall I'd rather have the real war, Poor v Rich , than the deluded Poor v Poor. It would be over quickly and we won't even lose anything of value.
Great point. I find culture itself is 'brainwashing'. It is just influence on your thoughts/who you are. The term brainwashing brings a good amount of negativity and polarism. It's not something that happens to 'us' but 'them'.
We are all brainwashed to an extent. Knowing that can at least prepare you to bring a good scrub and soap on your washings.
We should also allow everyone to be able to hide their face/do funny walks forever into the future.
Looking at the title, I hope one day we can run a campaign for a ban on ALL(*gasp) mass surveillance, not just biometric :/

It sounds like a great application for medical issues but does every consumer need one? The quotes from the guy from Magic Leap don't give me any hope that this won't be used to further program our race into some mindless consuming turds.

Seems like every industry has their rockstar figures to pull in new interest. Good or bad, it's a talking point(I assume some modern marketing technique everyone eventually will read about).

It sounds like we pick whatever is most convenient for us of the day. Everything disguised in 'its just nature'. We made change and we have left nature behind, we can continue in changing our uglier parts, but it sure as shit isn't convenient when most of our congress needs to be tried for war crimes, held responsible.
