How remote are you open to, international remote as well?

To clarify, all positions start out with purely equity? How long is the conversion period?

Are you open to globally remote candidates, or do they need to have residency in the US?

I have the same issue. As an orthodox Jew, I'm very very thankful for keeping the Sabbath, because that makes it 25 hours off my phone. It reminds me that I can do this, and I can limit my time. But setting those boundaries is really really hard!

Honestly I totally agree. Matt, your determination in seeing this through, and the dedication for 13 (!!) years is wildly inspiring in this, and it gives me hope for some of my SaaS dreams.

I would also look for projects that are being majorly run by a number of large organizations, and see how you could be of help. Look at the CNCF project list and take your pick!

My company (AppsFlyer) does a ton of Clojure work, and I think they'd love to talk (though most of our R&D is in Israel). Doesn't look like they have an open position in the US listed, but I'll send this message to some of our senior Clojure people and see whether they want to talk more with you.

Login.gov will be implementing enhancements to our internal caching infrastructure to improve reliability and performance.

Interruptions in service will occur within this maintenance window with an expected total downtime of under 60 minutes.

I'm a religious Jew. My day starts at 6 with a half-hour of Talmud study, then I have prayers for 40 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of reciting Psalms and another 30 minutes of Talmud study.

In the middle of my day, I pray for 15 minutes, and at night, I pray for another 15 minutes. I also try to end my day with a few more minutes of Jewish study

This makes so much sense to me. I had a similar experience at Goldman, and I had a friend who worked there who got called by compliance at the bank he worked at, because his financial adviser had bought a stock he wasn't allowed to. I think it's wild that our government isn't held to the same standard.

Can someone familiar explain why the AO thinks it would take $2 BILLION and 9 years to implement? Similarly (on a significantly smaller scale), why would it take $XX Million and 3 years to implement?

From a total noobs perspective (mine), it seems that all they would have to do is remove the paywall; assumedly there was already a security review of the product, so this should involve removing blockers and not necessarily reimplementing the wheel.

Where do those numbers and estimates come from? They seem wildly inflated to someone not in the govt industry, but I assume (perhaps generously) that there is some internal logic behind it...

This made me tear up. I totally understand that sentiment on both sides.

I have a mentor who told me that he was confused when got married, that his wife didn't come with him when he went to the store, to the bank, or on whatever random errand he was going on. Why? Because his parents (both incredibly highly educated and busy doctors) did everything together. If one was going to the store, the other came along, because they just enjoyed each other's company. I thought it was a beautiful depiction of what a familial relationship could, and perhaps should be like.

There is ongoing work with Buildpacks (specifically `pack`, the project CLI), to integrate better with podman, and enable a daemon-less workflow.

We most often build it with the local docker daemon (though you can with a remote docker daemon), test it, and then publish the image.

The beta release looks great, I'm excited to try it out!

This is really exciting! Can't wait to try it out. I'm glad to hear that it abstracted out stacks, that will definitely lower the barrier of entry for use.
