In my experience so far sometimes it will create these amazing hacks to try to get to the goal, when the solution is much simpler. That maybe the reason its very good at finding exploits. But in day to day dev, this gets expensive and wasteful. I have to stop it and take a simpler approach.

so at the moment combination of expert and llm is the smartest move. llm can deal with 80% of the situations which are like chess and expert deals with 20% of situations which are like poker.
The loss of life is extremely tragic, every single loss is devastating and is a family suffering forever.
Hoping that people of Iran get freedom, peace and prosperity.
Money buys experiences, comfort, and some happiness.
Thank you for that perspective, fully support your right to peaceful protest.
We live in a democracy with representatives. We may be approaching Kazakhstan but not there yet. Protests in Canada were allowed for weeks to go on without much interruption from government and there are still protests going on.
I am against mandates, against vaccine passports, also against debanking people. I would argue better approach in democracy is to call your representatives phone rather than jam 911. You can also vote them out in the next election (there is an election coming up in Ontario, Canada, if you feel that mandates are wrong make sure people running for election understand that you don't want mandates).
I hope we can see there is a way to peacefully coexist, by using tools available in democratic process.
I really wish that people would have protested without going overboard, the support would have grown a lot more. (Not making blanket statement that everyone who was part of protest went overboard)
I am not supportive of vaccine mandates and fully support people's right to control what is injected in their bodies. I don't support people getting fired because they are unvaccinated and all the other negative consequences of mandates.
We are in terrible and disappointing situation and can only hope that saner heads will prevail.
Absolutely people have right to protest all they want, infact people are still protesting on side walks. But they don't have right to block whole city blocks for weeks, blocking paths of ambulances, jam 911 and block critical infrastructure.
There is a lot of talk about inflation. But isn’t inflation most of the time a temporary phenomenon, because productivity and innovation catches up. When there is inflation its the perfect time for people and businesses to pivot to disruptive technologies and products.
For example, in late 2000s oil went up as high as $150 per barrel, gas was super expensive. People started talking about electric cars and renewable energy, companies like Tesla took advantage of that. Also fracking started coming online after that period and oil became relatively cheaper over a long period.
Aren't these restrictions getting out of hand? There are large populous countries which have survived Covid-19 without these kind of restrictions. Canadian population is very well vaccinated and that was suppose to trigger loosening of restrictions.
The blog post is about allotment so not a fair comparison. However, its supply and demand, extremely high demand and influx of people who want to live in Toronto.
There are places outside of Toronto, Canada which are affordable and have better price to comfort ratio. London Ontario, Gatineau Quebec, Regina Sask, Calgary Alberta are quite affordable and have all the modern life style options available.
Sometimes I wonder, why does SQL syntax has select at the beginning. The Query execution order is FROM -> WHERE -> GROUP BY -> HAVING -> SELECT -> DISTINCT -> ORDER BY -> LIMIT.
Isn't it more intuitive to write?
from stringList where s like '%Tutorials%' select sYes you own the device but it comes with Apple's software and services which you don't own. As long as you are updating the software on the device you will have to live with how it interacts with Apple's online services.
You can install your own software on Apple's hardware if that is possible and then use the hardware as you feel fit. Or you can take Apple to court and get a judgement to stop them from scanning your data.
Great donations, we need more bridges among different groups of people, and we should all work to make hunger a problem of the past, around 800 million people sleep hungry every day.

Yes, depending on the condition of the house, and how temperamental it is. I was lucky with my last house, in 5 years of ownership only spent $6000, I took care of the lawn on my own. Roof was changed a year before I bought it so never gave me an issue and was under warranty. Water heater was a rental and was taken care by the company I was paying $20/month. After I sold the house, furnace gave up a week before the closing date so I got it fixed for $500. There was a water issue in the basement which cost $5000 to fix, but it still didn't blow the budget.
Just a datapoint, but sometimes $2500/year is a reasonable budget.

Not just billionaires, almost all asset owners have had a wealth surge in the pandemic. Printing money has its consequences.
Just some words of caution, please don't read this article and think that getting treatment is futile. I was diagnosed with Stage 4B non hodgkins lymphoma 2 years ago, numbers were showing that multiple organs were failing, wasn't able to eat much because the belly got so distended, my PET scan lit up like fireworks after months of diagnostic failure. It took around 3-4 months to get to diagnosis and I was miserable. By that time I had read this article and was thinking maybe I should just go home and die in peace, but my wife told me I need to be strong and not give up.
The following one year was tough, initially I was carried around in wheel chair, too much muscle loss by time of diagnosis. At first, my body was so weak that doctors decided I can't even take the first cycle of chemo at once. My arms were so bruised with all the poking that I had to move them carefully. Then chemo side effects started getting overwhelming. But slowly, things started working. One year in I was back on my feet, started working again. Two years in, here I am writing this comment and hoping for a healthy bright future for everyone out there.
It's better to get advice of multiple doctors, understand risk vs rewards. Yes, there maybe a point when its time to optimize for quality of life and give up, but that should be after one or two lines of treatments.
There are quite a number of factors which are causing incredible price growth.
These cities are immigration destinations, a large number of Canada’s > 300k annual immigrants becomes residents of these cities every year. These immigrants are educated and quite often asset owners in their own countries. So lots of foreign money flows to these cities through immigrant population. Also culturally immigrants invest more in real estate as countries they have come from don’t have great investment alternatives beside real estate.
Because interests rates have been falling for last 20 years property prices have increased tremendously. This has created tremendous wealth for property owners, who then learned that they can cheaply get money out through home equity line of credit. This money is then invested in other properties which are rented out to pay for mortgage and expenses, creating a loop which further expands the price growth.
At this point property owners are making more money just by living or holding their properties than by working. So its becoming extremely attractive form of investment.
All of this is propped up by lax regulation, low housing starts, green belts, few public housing options. It is a dire situation and now young people are getting frustrated. Because the wages haven’t kept up and savings have been inflated away by a government which loves to print money.
Now this not even a big city phenomenon, the leverage available has caused prices in small cities to rise tremendously as well. Young local population is getting priced out because numbered companies are hoarding up houses and making them rentals.
There are some solutions, like banning non residents to own residential property in Canada. Asking for over 50% downpayment for 2nd residential property, 75% on 3rd. Taxing vacant properties.
In the end government needs to realize that residential properties are social assets not financial assets. The goal should be to create vibrant communities, and that cannot be done if people are unable to own a residence.
If you want to get back into web development which is very remote friendly, learn one of the following frameworks, Rails (Ruby) / Django (Python) / Laravel (PHP). The best way to learn and have experience is to build a small project, if you pick Rails, you can use the book by Michael Hartl https://www.railstutorial.org/book, it's a project based tutorial, so it's quite practical. For other frameworks there maybe similar books or tutorials.
Be part of a relevant forum / linkedin group, so you can clarify things when you are stuck.
Once you have built your first app, you can build more advanced features and start your job search. Update your linkedin profile with keywords which reflect that you are into web / software development. Start posting stuff on linkedin / blog and making connections with recruiters. Also connect with companies hiring remotely.
There are lots of companies with opensource projects on github, pick some issues, resolve them and send a pull requests, this will give you experience working with existing code, you will get to know remote team dynamics, and get to know people working on these projects.
Ask questions early, seek help often, I have found people to be very collaborative and helpful. We need more people in software development. I wish you great success.

One of the things people don't realize is that all these short squeezed companies get put into a very hard position. CEOs at these companies don't want a situation like this, as it damages the company's reputation, CEO of Tilray has talked about it when Tilray got squeezed for two months.
He said something interesting “My advice to those CEOs would be that, at times like this, your company is not your stock and your stock is not your company”.
Another things we need to realize is that there are people who will be losing their life savings or getting into debt. It doesn't matter if someone with high networth loses 1% of their wealth, but it does matter if someone in middle class loses 100% of their savings or worse bought these stocks with debt and now need to pay high interest on the losses. There have been painful situations where losses like these have caused people to have heart attacks, mental health issues and suicide.
Brokers, apps, platforms don't want their names associated with such painful situations.
Something that doesn't make sense to me, the images I have seen on internet show that Melvin Capital used PUTs to short GME. Those options may have become worthless by now, but they don't seem to be worth 2.5 or 3 billion dollars. Looks like Melvin Capital's downside was limited, or am I missing something?
Aren't options like insurance? insurance can be explained rather easily. People buy insurance in their home, to protect their investment in an unlikely event that it gets destroyed. Similarly people can buy insurance to protect their investments in financial instruments.
I found that GoPro Hero 9 has a webcam mode, works quite well and the quality is really good. However it is more expensive than regular webcams, but if you already have one , use it as a webcam.
Not a comment on to the ban, but trying to gain perspective on the overall heated environment. I wonder, if there are more than 2 political parties representing different view points in Congress will that help in decreasing polarization?
No, it can be safely stored at 25 degree Fahrenheit, according to Moderna as reported by npr.
