Volume is up because AI generation help writing papers. We should find a better measure of impact. I like to see the same charts on best paper awards.

There are huge evidence of copying.

Some day China can pioneer in science or technology but the current claim about Chinese companies leading AI development is ridiculous given the evidence of distillation and the fact that like 95 percent of science that lead to the current state of AI happened in either North America or Europe.

To be honest if you want to list academic papers that lead to the current AI models the majority is either done by Google Research or sponsored by Google.

It doesn't mean only Chinese companies are contributing. Take TurboQuant, a serious theoretical paper not just GPU optimization, it was google research as the original transformers as MoE and many other techniques we use daily in deep learning as for libraries like TensorFlow which were pivotal to fast development of AI

Can you name some tangible AI idea that came out of Chinese labs?

I can name thousands that came out western universities.

I see a lot of rhetoric that only the Chinese labs are contributing to AI while companies like Google and Microsoft are still pulishing their research.

Unfortunately the domain of scientific papers is cluttered with AI slop but still occasional serious paper that i find are from western labs particularly Google Research or Microsoft Research

The Islamic regem lost all its legitimacy in Jan. Even some loyalist where angry at them but they gain support of part of the people and found a reason to exist as the defender of the country.

They will survive and become stronger particularly if they get an economic lifeline out of this peace deal.

This is not Claude Code. And my experience is the opposite. For me Codex is not working at all to the point that it's not better than asking the chat bot in the browser.

It's just the most horrible thing. The whole idea of YouTube for me was to control what you watch in comparison to traditional TV where they fed you what they wanted. I know people say that you should not click on it but we all how low times in our day that we have exhausted our brain.

I think there are two scenarios and one of them is boring. If the owner of the agent created it with a prompt like "I want 10 merged pull requests in these repositories WHAT EVER IT TAKES" and left the agent unattended, this is very serious and at the same time interesting. But, if the owner of the agent is guiding the agent via message app or instructed the agent in the prompt to write such a weblog this is just old news.

The mild response shouldn't surprise you. I think the majority of American consumers and developers use iOS and they have little to no problem with the highly controlled and monopolized system.

Apple controls ridiculous detail of your application and there are many developers who think that it is necessary for Apple to keep the high quality of iOS.

Actually I was shocked when one of my coworkers told me that it is a very good idea and Google should have done it sooner.

Yes that's your reallity which is obviously different from mine.

One can list 70 years of "one time lone IDF soldier" war crimes. But I wouldn't waste time because you believe what you want to believe. Nothing can't change youe bias. You do not consider Pelastinians as humans.

In the early days of the Web, competition was intens in Search Engine market but eventually one of them won the competition and became the only viable option. I expect this will happen to AI as well. In future only one AI company will dominate the market and people will have no choice but to use it.

I don't know how much novelty should you expect from IMO every year but i expect many of them be variation of the same problem.

These models are trained on all old problem and their various solutions. For LLM models, solving thses problems are as impressive as writing code.

There is no high generalization.

You shouldn't believe Big Tech on their PR statements.

They are decades behind in AI. I have been following AI research for a long time. You can find best papers published by Microsoft, Google, Facebook in past 15 years but not Apple. I don't know why but they didn't care about AI at all.

I would say this is PR to justify their AI state.

If you're working on machine learning the most economic choice is Python.

But weiting a processing pipeline with Python is frustrating if you have worked with C# concurrency.

I figured the best option is Celery and you cannot do it without an external broker. Celery is a mess. I really hate it.

I think in this structure people only think locally and they are not concerned with the overall mission of the company and do not actively think about morality of the mission or if they are following it.
