I went from early bitcoin adopter to early bitcoin skeptic and despite missing most of the gains I have no regrets. During the early days the crypto space was concentrated to small online communities. People were mostly interested about the technology and the talk of price was limited, in the context "mass adoption". Nowadays it's about the price and the memes. Add to that the money laundering, energy waste and these abductions. Too many smart people work on these pointless projects instead of useful tech that benefits society.

LinageOS is sadly available only on the most popular devices.

On top of that Octave is not 100% MATLAB compatible, especially if are into more complex projects with toolboxes. I wasted tons of time try to do a college assignment in Octave before turning to MATLAB.

That is barely scratching the surface. I remember reports on reddit of people buying newly listed crypto assets in advance. That was in ~2016 and they didn't even try to hide.

It typically takes more than 20 hours on my dual core laptop. It's a pain, but once compiled I get the best of both worlds: fast as chrome, privacy friendly as firefox.

EDIT: Looks like popularity is on the rise [1]. Hopefully it will make it into the community repository.
