This is laughable, even with your depiction of the events. The candidate in question (Georgescu) had a very popular platform, and was supported by a large bases or Romanians on the left and right.
He was, however, opposed to further expansion of NATO.
If these ideas are too scary to let general public even consider, then democracies have to step in and censor the media. And that begins by banning TikTok, the largest platform where a narrative like this can bypass the existing power structures.

This would be relevant if the US were a functioning democracy. But the defence contractors have already seen the trillions to be made in boosting fears of Chinese AI and will, as usual, have 100x more say in policy than the electorate.
Even the employees of Google, Amazon, OpenAI don't realise yet that they are working for military contractors suckling off the teat of the US gov.

OpenAI has an early lead in the AI battle, and their ChatGPT brand is already a household name synonymous with LLMs for most people. This is the first time there’s been a real threat to Google’s monopoly in a decade.
Never mind they don’t have a profitable business model yet. OpenAI will pay a premium to Apple to keep their lead and remain the dominant brand in this new space in hopes they can someday supplant internet search. OpenAI seems to be at the point where they’ll burn billions in cash trying to join the ranks of the big tech monopolies. If they can reach Google’s status, they’ll be able to change ChatGPT from its “ten blue links” stage into something worse (but monetizable), but only if they can achieve dominant and defensive market share. Nobody seems to know how to pull off this last trick yet.
But in the meantime, a little competition in search (Google) is hugely beneficial to the largest gatekeeper of mobile users (Apple).

This is not my take, this is a proposal that has been suggested by Israeli officials.
Think for a minute why Israel might be “providing security” for this floating pier (built by the US), or why a sea-route for aid is even necessary in the first place. Wouldn’t it be much, much simpler to bring in aid by land (via the many border crossings also administered by Israel)?
The pier provides something else to Israel: a large escape hatch for forcibly transferring a large population without resettling them in Israel (or Egypt). (By the way, there is still some aid attempting to enter Gaza via the land routes but there are multiple examples of trucks being blocked and food being destroyed. Al Jazeera claims this is direct retaliation for their 7 Oct documentary which is a very thorough analysis of some of the more extreme claims made by the IDF about what happened that day. Ironically, this documentary uses the Israeli government's own information as its initial primary source (including the official record of who died that day).

Self-driving tech is really a bet auto manufacturers are making for the US market. Most of the developed world will move away from individual vehicles for anything besides the last mile in the next decades. Modern countries will have extensive train networks (already somewhat self-driving), but the US' faux-democracy does not allow for incumbent technologies like the automobile to be supplanted.
..according to Google. They have a track record of over-promising and then delivering something functionally worse than OpenAI.
