Does microsoft have the wisdom to predict where this line of technology is headed, and/or the agility to course correct when their predictions don't quite hit the mark?

Cursor blows copilot out of the water in my experience. Man power clearly isn't the most decisive factor in this battle.

"A controversial Amnesty International report asserted that Ukrainian military tactics put civilians in danger. Video footage has since been published suggesting that Ukrainian troops may have executed surrendering Russian officers in the town of Makiivka. Back in 2019, the International Criminal Court (ICC) determined that Ukrainian forces committed possible war crimes against Russian soldiers in eastern Ukraine.

To be clear: none of these allegations draws moral or legal equivalency between the acts of Ukrainian and Russian forces. Any alleged crimes committed by Ukrainian officers pale in comparison to the aggression and barbarity Russian forces have demonstrated in Ukraine. But all atrocities must be accounted for, not just those of one’s enemies."

Propaganda nonsense.

- that article is nearly a year old.

- Israel grossly over counts who is Hamas.

- Lancets July estimate was 200k dead. If 17k Hamas have died AND we exclude all civilians that have been killed since July, that's still 10 dead civilians for every legitimate target - horrible and despicable

The Gaza invasion was never about the hostages. If Israel cared about the hostages they wouldn't have indiscriminately bombed the entire territory. The hostages are dead, and demanding the impossible return of people they killed is simply a pretext:

They want land expansion and the total ethnic cleansing of Palestine. Look up 'Greater Israel'. Tim Walz accidentally let it slip during a debate that this is the goal of the US empires support.

American propaganda likes to paint the nuclear scientists as heroes, but I think the younger generation likely views them much more as "evil scientists who worked to create apocalyptic weapons" and feel comfortable with a lack of empathy for them harming themselves in the process.

Claude is amazing. The project documents functionality makes it a clear leader ahead of ChatGPT and I have found it to be the clear leader in coding assistance over the past few months. Web automation is really exciting.

I look forward to the brave new future where I can code a webapp without ever touching the code, just testing, giving feedback, and explaining discovered bugs to it and it can push code and tweak infrastructure to accomplish complex software engineering tasks all on its own.

Its going to be really wild when Claude (or other AI) can make a list of possible bugs and UX changes and just ask the user for approval to greenlight the change.

The house just passed $1.6B spending bill for the production of anti-china propaganda. This isn't necessarily a result of that, but I'd imagine some of the weird rumors you hear are manufactured by US intelligence/state dept.

The resulting ash would contain the vast majority of the extracted minerals. Throw in some kitchen scraps to replenish nitrogen and you'd probably be self sustaining at a reasonable hobbyist scale.

I think you should be skeptical of the official state claims of war aims. It seems quite apparent that Israel's actions are working towards the goal of ethnic cleansing and land conquest.

Does anyone who has found a good workflow with copilot have a good resource to share that demonstrates how to get the most out of it?

I really want it to be more useful, but rarely find that it's helpful for completing more than a single line or two.

Do you write out comments for everything you're going to do and then just write it yourself if the suggestion isn't useful?

Is there a trick to getting it to read your code itself across files?

Once I got "poop" i went ham and made a bunch of discoveries

Poop truck, space poop truck, poop train, poop martini, fartdiana jones, fartman, poopacat

And my favorite:

poopacabra (from chupacabra)

Also got some interesting failure modes:

Got "Fartacus Jones + Fire Poop Train", "" (galaxy emoji) and "???" (galaxy emoji) all of which refuse to combine with anything else.

EDIT: Got chicken titty, nuclear porn, and pooporn

Id recommend chatGPT plus unless you really want to use it purely within an ide. It's a little tedious copy-pasting code into chatGPT, but it gives more verbose responses and has wider breadth of functionality.

I have found myself using chatGPT more than Google now that I have pro. It's nice to just ask a question and get a thorough response without having to read the results myself.
