Macaw V1 Released 12 years ago

I heard that some of the open source developers work to seed the code with 0-days that can be sold for as much as $250k a pop to NSA…

So… NOTHING IS FOR FREE! And with Apple you can at least get a decent GUI that doesn't make your eyes bleed.

Great! So it will be even more left-wing, white knights oriented, immature behind big books kind of an affair. Write me off today Paul! Have a nice day!

--- ATTENTION: THERE IS NO SEXISM AT GITHUB!!! ---

Proof #1: Do I read it correctly that a woman got into fights with another woman -- and that is termed as "sexism" now? Give me a break…

Proof @2: how came "sexist" is an organization that is under influence and control of the boss wife? Who doesn't even officially work there!!! Like, really? This is sexism now??? WOW!!! So, again: give me a break with this nonsense!!!

Some old good venting: And finally, is this a forum for morons now who can't see through once they see a PC piece in the news? Because it seems to me so. HN is full of intelligent people but once PC piece is involved they all act like a band of brainless morons mumbling all marxist buzz-words from "equality" to "social justice". Give me a break again. And go back to coding.

Because under Bush shield building was already in process. There were US soldiers on the Polish ground literally building the damn thing. Then Obama went weak on Putin, broke US promise towards its Eastern European NATO allies, and stopped the process in its tracks. Great job!!!

OMG, the shield requires personnel to run it. So when you invade a country, you need to take into account there might be casualties among US serviceman. Now this is really risky. Another point, that's pretty simple: with the shield you can nuke Ruskies and they can't nuke you. Quite a difference compared to the current situation which is a direct result of Obama being soft on Putin.

Oh no, definitely not. Now it's too late. For years this weakling (Obama) have been porting an image of a weakling and that's the problem. There are plenty of examples: Syria and the red-line with chemical weapons usage. That was a red-line, we were supposed to do something once it's crossed. So it was crossed and what Obama did? Listened to Putin who said don't invade!!! He listened to Putin! So Syria is lost because he is weak. He'd rather listen to Russian President than to keep his word to the international community. Another example: Bush was in the process of building anti-missile shield in Poland and Czech Republic. The shield would render the countries untouchable by the Ruskies. And what happened next? Obama won election and to "improve relations with Russia" sold our allies in Eastern Europe, scrapped the already signed deal regarding building the shield on the territory of our NATO allies, just not to worry Putin. These are just 2 examples I have no time to spend here to make up for your lack of interest in reading international news in the past few years. The point is this: if you promote such image of such a weakling to a bully like Putin, you will get hit.

But, again it's too late now. We'd need to have McCain to fix that. None of that (shield in Eastern Europe, Syria) would ever happen with McCain or Bush leading the country.

What are you talking about???? Bush kept building US bases in plenty of ex-USSR republics day and night. He kept Putin by the balls. I'm an US citizen in Poland now. Bush wanted to build anti-ballistic shield in Poland that would render this country along Czech Republich untouchable by the Ruskies. First decision Obama made? He scrapped the whole deal in order not to make Russia feel bad. You have no idea how pissed of Poles are about that development. Strong president wouldn't do that. Strong President would build this freaking shield here and also in Ukraince. Just in case. And what about Syria? Huh? Obama just does what Putin says. That's whole Syria thing. Putin said, Obama did. WTF??? Is he a pussie or a president of the United States of America? He lacks balls in confrontation with America enemies who do whatever hell they want. And what is this now? Obama says on Friday, hey Putin there will be grave consequences if you involve yourself militarily in Ukraine. And what happens the very next day? What happens??Putin ignores this kid and his funny twitter posts and officially orders his army to invade Ukraine. Nobody treats this weakling seriously. Just let him go back to his community and smoke pot and leave politics to politicians with balls.

When will the State Department, the White House and NATO issue a response on Facebook and Twitter? In the ultimate battle, Obama can out text, twitter and talk Putin. US wins and is the world power in nothing. We have the leadership we deserve.

For me maybe it is a little bit like law of physics. There are rich and there are poor. There are healthy, there are sick. The world is a cruel place that's just not fair no matter how you slice it. Maybe death is great equalizer - makes us all equal in the end. There is no way to fight it, that's by "design" (i.e. 'law of physics'). Accepting this world as it is and living happy regardless, for me, that's the border between the world of adults and the world of children. I prefer to insult you (even though I didn't want to) than to be disrespectful (in the sense of not saying openly what I really believe in, don't want to be dishonest).

Please keep in mind that any of the 97% could be a job organizer too. It's a choice. I strongly disagree with children dying of cancer. But that's just the way this world works. People have this thing in their psyche were they want a "parent" to provide them money, shelter, security in exchange for their obedience (disguised as "work"). Getting rid of this childish mentality is good for you.

97% of people want to work. Like to code. That's what they want to do. And they expect the other 3% to organize these jobs for them. Because they don't know/can't/aren't interested in organizing these jobs on their own. It really boils down to: do you want to be a craftsman or wealthy man. Because if you want to be in the 3% organizing jobs for others, you won't have any time to do coding. It's very easy to end up in the mental trap of: "I just want to code" expecting to see the prize for all the hard work. But the prize always goes to the job "organizer" or creator and not to the one doing it. Never forget that.

Everybody in the USSR had job. But these jobs didn't produce any (usually) value to the society. Who wants to have a job like this? You want to do something valuable so you know that what you produce people are willing to pay for (vs. being forced to pay for it). It just seems much more healthy too.

There are these interesting developments that I noticed and I'm interested to see how many others noticed that: (1) Polarization of left vs right views among people in both US and EU (2) Sudden drastic turn to the right in many places in the EU while at the same time turn to the left in the US.

It seems to me that since 1945 the US has been mostly right wing and is turning left radically, while the opposite is true in the EU.

I wish Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, NASA, Boening, Goldman Sachs, et, etc were from Poland. Only 1 st world economy can dominate economically rest of the world. That the voters don't agree on free lunch doesn't make them automatically 2nd world country.

Most countries with socialized healthcare systems that I am aware of actually has a longer life expectancy than the USA. This is true for Canada, Germany, Norway, etc.I do not know if life expectancy is a measure for quality of health care, but it is at least an indicator of how good the general health is.

I agree. Actually Poland which is 2nd world country really, has better life expectancy that USA! However, this doesn't mean that Polish healthcare system is superior to American. This means that if all you do whole life is eating, stressing out at work, having no friends with family 2 time zones away, and zero exercise - even the best healthcare system in the world won't help you. So while I agree that people live longer in most civilized places than in the US, I still claim that the US healthcare system as long as money isn't a major concern for you - it is just the best system in the world, period. But even they can't help you if you have been on McDonald's diet foe the past 20 years and the most exercise you do is 10 meters from home to car.

On a personal note I would say that my experience with the US health care system has left a lot to be desired, and I experienced the care as better in my native Norway. That said, my girlfriend is a doctor and her health plan seems a lot better so my experience can be anecdotal.

Not sure how good they would be about it in Norway, but in the US they diagnosed me with Ehlers Danlos type 2 in a matter of weeks while in Poland literally dozens of doctors I visited didn't know what's going on. In my particular case, where the condition in from 1 in 3,000 to 1 in 50,000 the major incentive to find out what's wrong with me for the doctors was really fear for me suing them. Again, money in this system really works both ways. I said my insurance company, you test me genetically for ehlers danlos or I sue your ass. They paid $6k for testing and I was tested positive. From perspective now I think that in Poland some doctors at least knew or suspected my condition but had no incentive to do anything. And money or loosing it is a great incentive.

I'm a Polish guy with US passport who spent many, many years in the USA and my feeling is as follows: In the US people complain about one single thing regarding the healthcare - cost. In Poland they'll complain about long waiting lists, not enough doctors, not sufficient care, basically everything is worse than in the US - except the cost.

I for one don't think that the major objective of healthcare system is not to bankrupt people. Its main objective is to safe life. I wish more people would be worried about saving lives more than money.

So Asians are smarter and less crime-prone on average than Whites. I don't understand why you are picking on me, I'm not the one here who has a problem with facts.
