More like a page loading issue. Probably need to look at optimizing the page or display a simple big "LOADING..." in the middle of the screen while all fields and field values are being loaded. Also disable the actual page (all submit or selection buttons) while page is being loaded.

Definitely not user error. Different locations have different internet connection speed that will effect page loading.

This is what works for me.

1. Start the day with a plan (15 to 30 min)

2. List things that, absolutely, need to be completed

3. List things that would be great if can be completed (bonus)

4. Have a set time when you are going to finish work. For me, 6pm. So when 3 or 4pm hits and I still have 1 or 2 things from my list #2 above, I get on it right away. That also helps me to stay on track whenever I am in meeting or unexpected phone call etc. Excuse myself or end the call quick so that I can get back on track.

It sounds very simple but it has helped me feel accomplished when I end my day at 6pm. Feeling accomplished for the day is very important for me. I usually hit the gym at 7pm and if I don't feel accomplished, I end up having a sucky gym time. A good gym time, run or outdoor activity, helps to set the tone for the rest of the night. If I am working on a side project, I usually start working again around 10am and stay up until 12 or 1am latest. Rinse repeat until Friday.

So MY short answer to "How do you decide when you've done enough work for the day?" = When you feel "accomplished" for the day :)

Although there are many different tools out there, sometimes I just want to fire something up and start working on it. Speed, as in how quickly you can start working on something without having to tinker around with different tools and components is a huge plus. Use case scenario = design meetings, brainstorming sessions, client meetings etc. Plus the right click palette and the UI is very useful.

Assigning different colors for users working on the same canvas will be helpful to track who is working on what.

Considering this is an initial release, it is pretty amazing.

What happens when you have multiple lily's up at the same time? Is there any collision prevention?

Marketing gimmick sometimes frustrates the hell out of me.

1. (No app required) - but the person hosting the photos need to install the app?

2. (Download on the Apple Store icon)- Yet clicking on it will give you a coming soon page. Will it kill you to put a "Coming Soon" text below the icon ?

Of course, I am still trying to wrap my head around the use case for this concept, especially when you have a dozen other ways to solve this problem. Oh wait, what was the problem again?

Particularly on the topic of having children, buying cars or homes, being loyal to a company or the concept of risk taking, the current 30 - 40 year old would have a complete different mindset than the 30 - 40 year old from 10 - 20 years ago.

I'd be interested to know the number or ratio of startup created by under 30 and have failed vs number of startups created by over 30 and failed. My guess is there'd be less failure by over 30 founders.

Interesting bit here: There were 20 Freescale Semiconductor engineers on that MH 370 plane. Story is getting interesting by the day.

Is there an app for this?

In the future, don't let yourself get distracted with accent etc, especially if you want to work in the tech industry. It may be different in Vancouver, but majority of tech workplaces in the US you are going to find people from all language background with heavy thick accent.

I agree with everything you said except the last part... "Another possible exception is Stanford MBAs, specifically."

I will also add, it is important to have a good combination of good team with a good idea. You can't just have a great kickass team and expect your idea to be successful. Think Color, Foursquare, Cuil etc.

SharePoint is not a successful product!! It is very frustrating to run Sharepoint as anything it is marketing for.

Document sharing - bad execution, horrible UI. Something that should take 2 clicks takes about 8 clicks on Sharepoint.

Sharepoint as a Website - don't even get me started with that. Unless you want to spend 3 months hiring a 3rd party sharepoint company to implement 3rd party tools to make it half usable, you are out of luck.

Ballmer and his stooges were too busy making fun of Apple and Google (aka. Microsoft's version of marketing). Gosh, when Ballmer leaves, I hope all his VP's would be taken out as well.

I totally understand as you would need to somehow attract job postings to bring more developers to the site (or vice versa). I guess once the site picks up, and both companies and freelancers see the value, then you can come up with a way to verify jobs. Best of luck.

The problem with companies posting jobs for free is that, it may attract companies who don't really value the developer's work, both in effort and monetary compensation. I have seen a lot of companies like that and companies that are legit and who really value developers don't really mind paying a fee to get good developers.

You never set a standard based on a worst case scenario. Just because 30% of 12 yr old kids (btw I made that number up) are swearing left right and center does not seem logical to not protect the other 70% from swearing.

Even the simple File - Save Page As and save as a txt file saves a lot of time for me. I know it adds more clutter but beats opening a new app just to type few things.

Plus, in order to get the real facebook visual representation, try adding post from gaming companies, internet memes and random photos from articles.

I think what both Dave and Fred echoed is something that that everyone here came to a realization few years ago (the time for startups without any revenue model is over).

But that said, there is nothing stopping the next Instagram or the next Pinterest from becoming really successful. Both these sites (I am sure I can think of more) broke out during the very same period VC's kept claiming they are not going to fund startups without any revenue model or whose model is based on ads (or ads related).

So personally, I don't think what Fred said (or Dave) is anything to be sweating about. Just keep pushing products out, that is what I think.
