Actually the acquisition was closed on November 24th, so it was just in 2 months

They acquired European companies in the past and did similar things (e.g. Komoot). They are in the process of acquiring Eventbrite, where a big part of the workforce is located in Spain, and the feeling is that they are going to do the same there.

It will probably take more time due to legal processes and severance packages may be better, but I don't think this is going to stop them, let's see.

From my experience, it's useful when I'm not able to concentrate on a specific task. The feeling of blocking time for a specific task is helpful for my mind to fully focus n that.

Anyway, 25 minutes is just the standard but you can use longer periods. For example, I use blocks os 1 hour where I block all my distractions, knowing that this time is just for that specific duty.

Fluent Forever book has helped me a lot with Language learning. It shows you how to learn a language mainly using flashcards, apart from other things.

I'm recommending you some things that have completely changed my experience using Anki for language learning:

- Don't use translations. Use images instead. For learning how to say dictionary put a picture of a dictionary. It will be easier to remember. Also, you usually won't find a perfect translation for a word.

- Use cloze cards for grammar. Instead of learning the rules, understand them and put four sentences with placeholders and repeat them. This process will make this way of constructing sentences stuck in your head.

I hope companies start doing this in European leagues. It's going to be difficult but I don't want to be forced to use an ISP and pay €150 per month to watch 4 matches of my team. I hope stream reduces these costs. DAZN is doing some improvements on this path, but it's still not enough.

I think it's better, at least for me, to have 4-day workweeks. I feel that much more of my productive energy is wasted during work hours. Even with 6 hours in the morning, I won't be able to focus with the same intensity for a full day for me after work.

I think this is because I mostly use my leisure time for studying or coding. I reckon that a parent would prefer 6-hour workdays to spend more time with their kids.

I'm pretty excited about this Intel P chips of the 12th generation. It's seems they are going to be a good competitor for M1 for the Linux world. At least, benchmarks show good numbers, we'll see.

Secondly, on the topic of social media making people feel insecure about something (like their bodies). Isn’t that everywhere? At the beach? In magazines? On TV? At parties? In school?

The thought that I have overcome about this is that SM is different from the examples that you gave. In magazines or TV, you assume that is going to be filled with "non-real" people (esthetic surgeries...), but at the end of the day, you will be surrounded by people like you.

At parties, school, or at the beach, yes you can find some perfect people, but the vast majority are going to be just normal people like you.

SM is different for that, you are comparing every nuance of you with an adulterated version of normal people (just people like you, not famous people). Personally, SM makes me feel that everybody except me has an ideal life and I know that's not true.

I don't like the "social" aspect of social media, I like the "media" part though. I like to follow photographers, use to follow some type of hobby, but not to see people's life.

I guess Google don't want this. In the last years Google has been hiding ads making them looking like the normal results [1]. From an advertiser perspective, you want to have your ad as the best result for a search, "lying" to users to use your website or product because is the best for what you're looking for.

I think this is different with Youtube. I see those ads like TV ones. Everyone know it's an ad, so the advertiser has to use their ability to catch the costumer.

I see in the Wikipedia article that 13M people applies. I guess that you mention that not so many people emigrate from Europe to the US, that's why it's more likely to get this. I will consider this, it's so interesting.

I guess it's almost impossible to emigrate as a Junior to US being European, but I would like to know the opinion of someone that has experience in that. I would like to work there in my first years (don't want to spend my life there) but I see normal that no company would like to support a VISA for a Junior having a lot in the US.

I find it funny when Microsoft says we love open source and their open source projects are a calculator and a utility tool. This is the same for almost any big company.

When I first read the title I thought about security reasons. I think this problem is more related on how the products are designed. Why does a controller need to be always looking to connections? For wearables, this could be ok, but not for a gadget that I'm going to leave in a drawer once I finish playing.

I would like bootcamps if the people that course them were more passionate about technology. I see them as courses for people that want to get a job quickly and don't care much about technology.

A computer-related job can be really burning for people that don't like technology.

I don't see a technology-passionate person with technology and computers cursing a bootcamp instead of a degree when you are going to learn in a much deeper way.

I don't totally agree with this, but I agree with the think that this is likely a strategy to avoid people talking about his government spying other parties politicians using Pegasus.

Sometimes I feel that society forces us to be economically successful in all aspects of life. I'm in the first steps of my career, and even though I just want to learn new things and do exciting projects, the first thought that come to my mind when I have an idea to develop is: "How could this be profitable?"

One thing I'm really excited about open-source is I no longer have to deal with any of the business or deployment stuff. I can focus on being a project manager.

I think that having this feeling it's the best achievement you can get from this.

This is the thing. The only thing that come to my mind is that the attackers knew previously his wife. Since the email is not a common one like info@... or contact@... it sounds difficult to me to find.

Another possibility is that some bot is buying discarded domains and trying to restart password with different combinations

Seems like you may have more than one goal, as moving to another country is a different matter than just wanting to learn a language

It's something that I would like to do at some point in my life, but I don't hurry about it. English will be needed for sure, but also other languages. The difference between English and for example German is that I will not mind if I'm talking with a person and I use the wrong verb tense, but I don't want to use the wrong verb tense in a professional context. This is what I want to express with fluency.

I feel confident with my English. I don't feel bad when I don't know how to say something and I can't talk in almost situation. However, in the IT field (and in almost all professional fields) you have to speak properly to be considered an "expert". I'm not talking about having a different accent, I'm talking more about things like using the proper verbs tenses or the best sentence structure. This is what I want to point out when I refer to fluency.

Yes, I don't have any problem watching or listening any media in English, even with subtitles. I reckon this was the best step I took to improve my English.

Since you're in Europe it seems like this might be possible for you?

Yes, as I said, I would like to work in a foreign country but I think it's hard to find a company which hire people from another country with less than 2 years' experience
