This doesn’t quite do it because of the systemic reasons that CS grads are not representative of the US population at large. So, the goal should really be to hire proportionally within US roughly aligning to the overall demographics of the US population.

She can just be a bad person, but my sense from scanning the comments is that a bad person artificially propped up by a social framework is worse because in theory it made it easier for the bad person to achieve a position of power where otherwise it’s less likely they would have achieved such a position. At least that’s my take on what people are arguing without diving in too deeply.

Curious about examples the other way from seven years ago and about similar examples fourteen years ago. Sounds like an interesting hypothesis.

Your link is from Vermont, not Colorado. I don’t think anyone is advocating for the release of wolves into Vermont.

I did a search of regenerative agriculture in Colorado and can only find a single farm that has tried it. Given that it seems tenuous to suggest that wolves will destroy regenerative agriculture in Colorado?

Regenerative Ag seems to be focused on agriculture, as the name implies. The people upset about wolves are ranchers who stand to have their livestock attacked by wolves. I am not seeing the connection between wolves and the destruction of regenerative agriculture.

It’s hard, not impossible. We need enforcement like we enforce endangered rhinos in Kenya from poachers.

Given the consequences of the reintroduction of wolves to the ecosystem, I think literally everyone will be living with the consequences to some extent. Unless by “the consequences” you’re specifically referring to wolves attacking the livestock of billionaire (in many cases) “ranchers,” then maybe not because I’m assuming those billionaires ranching on public land aren’t voting against their pecuniary interests (as billionaires do not seem to do) and thus are not in the 50.4%.

T-Mobile isn’t technically a legal system so this is referring to them fining for illegal content of their own accord as part of the contractual arrangement. It’s not as if they impanel a jury :)

Just based on the most cursory look, which took less time than it took you to write your comment (considering the links you added taking more time than typing…), they are different repositories by different people for different things.

As a professional adult I have never come across anyone who has ever commented on someone else’s phone positive or negative or neutral except once in a while someone gets the just released latest and greatest Y and someone may say “oh you got the latest and greatest Y phone, cool, how do you like it?” and that’s it.

I can’t imagine interacting with someone professionally who even thinks for one second positively or negatively about someone based on their phone choice, from five year old Androids to yesterday’s iPhone pro.

It does have a real time tracking feature. I don’t use it, I use the built in Garmin. But you can enable this and anyone following you can see your activity in real time.

I find the bigger security issue is recording close to home, so people can theoretically see where you live and know what sort of expensive sports equipment you might have.

In a thread about “if it’s not stupid if it works” you accuse people of doing something “incompetent” by doing something ostensibly “stupid but works” but totally miss on what was even possible “non-stupidly.” There feels like some form of irony here.

I do this. Often they hang up when they hear my voice, so I’ve found speaking slowly and like I was confused person but taking them seriously seems to be the sweet spot. From there, continuing to act confused and get their instructions wrong constantly keeps them on the line. If you mention the word “scam” or any implication they are criminals they hang up immediately and move on. They also don’t have patience for “not being able to hear/understand them.”

I think if I can take as much of their time as possible that’s less time they have to scam vulnerable people. And it’s often good for a lark and quick break from the day.

In America my friends pay $3,500 per child per month. The grass is always greener I suppose.

Looks like this article from Car News China is testing a Chinese car in China with Chinese batteries on Chinese roads. I didn’t see any reference to USA or USA freeways.

Uber is profitable as of the fourth quarter of 2023. You will also note that around the time of their financial announcement[1] their stock price gained about 50% in share price, jumping from $40/share at the beginning of November to $60/share today, about six weeks later.
