A token to fuel an accelerator isn't a bad idea at all. Most accelerators would have loved to do the same, but don't have a blockchain they verify on. This project is the first of a kind in terms of the tech.

I didn't see any sponsors on their website, but there are some logos in their promotional material. As far as I remember they had Augur, the Ethereum based prediction market on there. Also, Jack, Augur's founder is on the judge list.

There are a few projects that are trying to tackle the music industry copyright issues, mechanical rights distribution and also p2p distribution of Creative Common releases. They all look promising, but none have seem to catch on a network effect. Early days?

Genuinely one of the most bizarre interviews I've ever heard. Craig Wright losing it in an interview with GQ about whether he is Satoshi or not.

The issue comes into play that Bitfinex owned the private keys of all wallets in their possession, and the winners of positions were shown an accounting ledger through Bitfinex as opposed to having possession of their own coins. Now I can not pretend I know what happened behind the scenes with the back and forth between Bitfinex and the CFTC, but I can say that based on all evidence, Bitfinex was unable to pay out all positions within the required 28 day period. Verbiage within the original CFTC complaint suggests that the primary cause of this was Bitfinex's accounting system that was at fault.

BFXCoin isn't totally without precedent, as BitcoinBuilder (created in the wake of MtGox) was recognized by the Japanese courts.

I installed Brave when it first came out as the ad plan sounded very interesting. There was another attempt using bitcoin in the browser to 'bypass' ads, but unfortunately, it wasn't have been successful (in the network effect sense) I'm still waiting for the LastPass option :)

It would make sense for Kraken to turn trading ethereum classic on too
