The market is mature enough to have standards for charging, but is nowhere near being mature for battery swaps. The charging problem will be solved long before battery swaps get close to being a thing, especially with the recent convergence on NACS.

Though I agree flying is extremely safe, keep in mind that of those 4 years, two of them were while the 737 MAX was grounded, and much of it was while air travel was much lower due to COVID.

There are so many disclaimers after that table that I feel that citing it as a "nice comparison to other transport methods" is absurdly simplistic and disingenuous. Especially since a sibling comment says "It is utterly fascinating to me that technically walking is just as safe as a car on a journey by journey basis."
