For a company so lost, their people talk a lot about being obsessed with feedback/data in meetups (at least 2-3 years ago.)

I guess the point is, with enough money they can afford to operate like this.

The visionaries know better than us. They've known better for a long time now.

Later is never. We all knew that.

AI will do all the "later" things we could not do and the civilisation will flourish. :')

An important thing can (and one may argue will) be overdone AND hvlfvssed stealing oxygen from another important thing.

While I'm glad you posted this point of view/framing which honestly needs highlighting in the name of a better discussion, I must remind that the moaning back then was for the ceremony stealing time from building.

On forced password resets, the NIST guidelines are clear. But alas, this kind of news travel very VERY slowly it seems. Even the large organisations that "care deeply" about security seem to miss the memos. Gets my goat all the time.

Thanks for the real world stories on people who are actually, physically challenged.

Whenever I have to call an IVR system for support it puts me in a blood rage 98 out of 100 times. This space is the ultimate dark pattern mine field.

My common interactions were with banks and telco companies. Absolute trash.

I'm pretty sure some systems allowed remembering the DTMF menu and press it while the voice recording played. But the recent systems I called did not allow this. It was like they intentionally made people wait to suffer the torture.

People call these systems as a last resort (At least I do). It should be illegal to make them so bad.

Also, I used to work with Telco side guys of these systems and they were very proud of these "capabilities".

Sorry for the rant. I had to vent it out.

Even though MacOS is not terribly better, it's good enough. Add to that the new cheaper macbook and it must inspire pause in the great folks at Microsoft.

With the goodwill and mindshare they earned, it does not feel impossible.

Perhaps OpenAI is aiming for a more compelling suit of things for penetrating enterprise (I'm just speculating as I go here).
