I think you should reasonably to be able to expect to seek peace and support in the country that created the unstable situation for you in the first place, yes.

At any rate the effect of these asylum seekers on the hospital system in the U.S. pales in comparison to the private equity vampires stripping it for parts while getting abject dummies like you to blame "the migrants."

The problem is that they've been convinced the reason everything in our lives is increasingly shitty is down to hordes of 6-year-olds with leukemia who've crossed the border for free medical care. It couldn't be more obvious that this is a scapegoating operation being pushed by the ultra-wealthy who are gaining from widening precarity and exploitation. But a "solution" that involves just inflicting a bunch of harm to the powerless is inherently more appealing than wresting control from the powerful, which will involve real work & sacrifice.

It's not just this administration, it's been essentially open season for fraud in the U.S. financial system ever since 2008. If you're a hoi polloi dentist who makes $100,000 trading options off of some insider info then yes, there are SEC cops on the beat who will come after you. Otherwise, you can pretty much do whatever you want until & unless a whole lot of people lose money, at which point it's too late.

Disinformation is a standard weapon for both sides in any major conflict but I’ve been following closely and haven’t seen this. Do you have links to either of these things from official Iranian sources?

There’s no need for AI to show the devastation in Tel Aviv, it’s real enough.

I don't understand how the NYT, which is well known for having done the U.S. security state's bidding in fomenting regime change in the region in the past, would have access to actual Iranian officials and internal workings like this.

How strictly is the veil still enforced? After the U.S./Israeli sneak attack I saw video of a woman on the streets of Tehran, with no veil, loudly demanding that the Ayatollah lift the fatwa on developing nuclear weapons so that Iran could defend itself from further aggression. She didn't seem to be in any fear of reprisal or consequences.

Hahaha even if they marched U.S. Marines straight into Tehran (and that is never happening) I doubt the Shah will ever be restored. The day in the sun for that particular psychopathic ruling class project is over.

"Countries" as such do not have interests, no. This is a line the ruling class puts out when it wants to obscure the fact that its own interests are always prioritized, often to the great detriment of the vast majority of the country.

One could perhaps say that "governments" have interests, and in that case the interests of a genuine socialist state and an authoritarian regime that's just pretending to be one are quite different.

Just because Musk is done firing government employees and is engaged in a little punch-and-judy show of conflict with the Trump administration does not mean he is "on the outs"
