exactly. i just tell them something that translates to potential marginal increases in utilization and reduction in costs like automated workflows etc

yes and also my spouse and i have the opposite where we enjoy listening to 89.5 whenever we pass through Seattle. we find the amateur students who try to sound smart and cool really endearing and entertaining

even worse when managers, while sharing their screen, read an assertion from Gemini and take as fact. puts subordinates in a position where theyre responsible for challenging the assertion (if warranted) and, in a way, challenge their manager's decision making

not saying anything new. easy enough to frame it like any other assistant and check references

happened to me when scraping together a down payment for a house offer during the low interest rates 5 years back. parents completely understood the interest rates were basically a winning lotto ticket that would never come again in our lifetime and refused to help back a competitive down payment with any money at all

their logic was that theyd given my sisters tens of thousands of dollars over the years and my sisters remained dependent, but ive been financially independent since college. they never gave me money and id never asked

according to them: they perceived they had made me tougher when reality is that i simply never asked for money when my sisters did, because i assumed that would mean if i ever asked they would respect the request

fucked me up to the point where they noticed how annoyed i was and have offered money since, when i didnt need it, and ive pretty much made a point i hope theyre buried with it

have a large extended family almost entirely living in the Seattle area while i grew up in rural Oregon

i moved out after high school and did my best to stay out (of course occasionally life has other plans). nearly all of my 30ish Seattle cousins stayed with their parents until getting married, some never moved out. i was so confused because i was close with my cousins and we seemed pretty like-minded, but it really just came down to housing costs

it blows my mind when anyone ever reads $x.99 as $x out loud. i often cant keep myself from muttering "$x+1" and its taken decades of practice to keep myself from looking at them like they have 2 heads

figured it out since i learned to read so it seems so childish to hear adults make it

turns out ppl like me are the weird ones and most people just truncate at the period

An AR ArcGIS Map viewer in Apple Vision Pro. A Pre-listing checklist tool for Apple Vision Pro. A custom widget in ArcGIS Experience Builder for applying relationships to unrelated, unowned data.

The feeling comes and goes.

I'm a hands-on learner. Peers show me their agentic workflows. I'll nod and ask questions and tell them it's cool. But inside I'm spinning out fearing my future will look like these workflows. However, then time passes and that workflow or prototype amounts to nothing but spent credits and time. Then I relax.

I'm still part of the problem. I use these tools as a "better google" and require reference links to all of it's assertions.

I keep finding myself considering going into nursing or some other in-demand, well-paying job and wonder if I wait long enough the shift will be subsidized somehow.

You said it well and my brain automatically rephrased your comment while I was reading it:

Our whole everything is setup as a skinner box for mulah. People finding tricks for more mulah are massively rewarded. Efforts are optimized for ROI within a fraction of a second. And management are accountable only to the measured outcomes.

exactly. id be quite surprised if 60% of the US doesn't prefer days off to work days but we still gotta go to our jobs to pay rent

or if youre like me you end an RPG with like 29 ethers that using early would have made life a lot less grindy

as an unintentional and perhaps unethical vegetarian of many years who hasn't read this book: eating dead things gives me the creeps because it makes me consider my own death and consumption which is unappetizing

or a headline about coercion. even that would be "forces"

skipped the byline and halfway through realized the voice felt familiar. if you like this and are unfamiliar with Radden Keefe then check out The Snakehead and Say Nothing. im sure everything he writes is great but can personally recommend those

casual 3 ball juggler who usually juggles fruit bc its fun to have a little pressure. might make a mess or ruin perfectly good food. my question:

sometimes when im really grooving ill have a ton of backspin. like a finger roll in basketball. is that bad technique or do pros do that too?
