It sounds like a gGmbH, but the Imprint (https://www.ecosia.org/imprint) still says Ecosia GmbH (-> For-Profit).
Great Project. I am very thankful for this useful tool.
Small "bug"/Different behaviour than expected I found: I you move the slider with Arrow-Keys, you are not able to move it beyond the currently visible time frame. If the value on the far right ist 750 BC and you press the Key repeatedly it will, at some point jump back around 30 years.
The "Fall of Civilizations" Podcast by Paul Cooper is a outstanding long-form History Podcast. Definitely worth a listen.
A great project. I tried searching for the german word "Eichhörnchen" and the third pronounciation was in swiss german. That is a different language. Use with caution :)
In my family its common to lend money. Amounts range from buying a car to downpayment for a house. We are financially a diverse group. From poor to middleclass. That enabled buying houses and escaping rent for a lot of people. Maybe the cultural and religios background is important in this context. I certainly would lend money and ask for many in my circle when in need.
I recognice myself in this description albeit only partly. Luckily I became aware early on. I force myself to give up things from time to time. Right now youtube is completly blocked from my phone. In the morning I take time to read and pray. I dont have kids, that makes it a lot easier. Cant give you a good advice, just wanted to say you are not the only one in this struggle.
There are some very interesting approaches to Cochlea-Implants[0]. In Göttingen (Germany) a research group tries to stimulate the Cochlea via Light. That would allow for a lot better frequenzy bandwith and therefore better hearing quality.

Overall great. It is important to me to sleep on a hard matress, without a pillow. Once I made these adjustments my Sleep improved greatly. But I am only in my early twenties so probably not that great of an reference. Also after hard physical work the sleep gets even better.
A german Podcast from Historians regarding this incident: https://www.geschichte.fm/archiv/gag318/
Singing and conducting choirs. Being a conductor is fascinating. I'm able to move and direct around 50 people in perfect harmonie and synchronisation (in theory :D reality sadly differs sometimes). The community aspect is also great. We share something we are passionate about and work on it together.
Germany still pays for SMS, nobody here uses MMS because its so expensive.
Graph Theory in General is extremly useful for all sorts of algorithms [1]. What the application for this particular discovery might be is also unknown to me.
Is the freedom of speech as stated in law enough? I can imagine that a lot of journalists are afraid to say what they want (or need) to say. The thread of losing the job is possibly a great burden in the pursuit of truth. We should enable some sort of financial independence for journalists to give them every reason to speak and write truthfully. A young and starting journalist needs a job at an established organization and is therefore bound to theire agenda.

In the german Bible the name is actually written: Sem. But I havent yet met a person named Sem.
Pursue whats meaningful, not what is expedient. -Jordan Peterson
Helps me to keep asking, what and how should i do and approach.
Definetly interesting, but also challenging: Archipel Gulag from Solschenitzyn. I learnd a lot about human nature, shaped by circumstances. Scary stuff. But this book is a historic document. Names are real, places are real, events are real. Absolutely worth a read. EDIT: "The Gulag Archipelago" is the english title.
Im currently reading Archipel Gulag from Alexander Solschenitzyn and that joke sounds quite familliar. The reality of the past century in Russia really proved optimists wrong. Devestating to read that book. It literally puts me on breaks to just sit and think. Sad that humans are capable of such cruelty.
The Discovery of Slowness Its not necesseraly a fictious book, but pleas give it a try. It really helped me understand myself and also other people better.
Useless apparently. Im far better of learning in the university together with some friends. At home I cant get me to do anything. Its frustrating. The possibilities are outstanding, that even adds to the frustration. From a Mental Helth point of view im fine. My family is wounderful, everything is great, besides me being unproductive :)
Reminds me of the old movie "The Pentagon Wars" which I would highly recommend. Its about the absurdity of said politics, but in the army, where lives of people are on the line. The sad part is: The Story is true.
Look up the german Apprenticeship Model. We are doing this. The students get paid, but not the amount a learned worker gets. Its called "Duales Studium" and is available for a lot of different jobs. Examples are: Engineering, Architecture, Trade, ... At the and of those 3-4 Years you get a Bachelores Degree.
Guy from Germany here. I were with my twin (both guys) in the same class. Im also a Christian who really belives in the Bible (Really rare in my area). In short: I were an outsider (but together with my brother). Nonetheless bullying wasnt really a thing. In the beginning some kids gave it a try, but the achieved nothing. Generally the time was really great, we had a lot of fun. Our class was awesome and stood together. We had the typical Groupes and often little figths, but it never got physical. If a new kid came in class he had some starting problems, but generally new friends were made quickly. Bullying happend, but on a minor scale and never physical, just the stupid stuff kids say if they want to be cool.
