Wasn’t that the promise of crypto currency? To have programmable, digital money?
Interesting. I would not think of age when someone requests “cleaner and more polished”. My mind translates that to “nicer UI”
Your eyes are still looking at an object (roughly?) 10cm away from your face: the screens. Your eyes are not adjusting focus. Any focus (or blur) you see in VR is simulated depth.
So yes, the issue is indeed the distance where your eyes are focussing, caused by the fact that they're constantly focussing on something very close to your face.
My optician told me its like stretching your arm while holding something heavy. At first that's no problem. But eventually your muscles will start burning and you can't hold it and even when you relax your arm it still hurts if you held it for too long.
As far as I'm aware there are no VR headsets yet that adjust the live generated depth vision based on the diaphragm of your eyes. That would be wild.
Why. This is again thinking from solely a profit perspective and revenue for shareholders. Users don’t want extra half-assed crap just because the company can scrape a little more revenue this way.
They do one thing great apparently. I know many people that cannot be convinced to switch away from Dropbox.
A happy company culture sounds like an excellent result from a great leader.
If stock owners want more ROI come do the work instead of setting demands. (i know that’s unfortunately not how the world works).
Exactly. Looking at it, it could be any generic unknown Chinese EV brand.
So you’re telling me I should sand my carbon fiber wing foil mast and wing with 1000-1500 grid sand paper for better gliding results?
I’m fairly new to the sport and never heard of this yet.
Oh boy the ActiveXObject brings back some ~~ptsd~~ fond memories.
This is the main reason I’m not using Gemini for work. Google won’t let me pay for it. I pay for just about every AI service under the sun but Google needs to refuse my card, account, location or a combination of these.
But they happily take my money for a couple of Workspce accounts.
Im old enough to remember the horrors of pop3 and backing up Outlook pst files.
No sir. I’m very happy with my email cloud service.
I don’t get it. How is this different from using the Claude iOS (and I assume Android) native app and use their “Code” option. It fires up a Claude Code session in the cloud and you can vibe code anything while on the toilet.
Genuine question: how would they know if it has always been a certain way?
If they _lost_ their sense of smell, they had something to compare it with.
Turnstile is back up (for now). Go refresh. I just managed to make an API key and turn off proxied DNS.
Lol. I mean I love Tailwind but it seems like the least trivial site/service to be down right now haha.
Same here. We’re using OhDear. The status page is available but I can’t post an incident because their service is also behind Cloudflare.
No UTF-8 support?
Im finalizing the Google Calendar integration for Ganttify. https://gantt-chart.com
It will allow users to fully manage their calendar in a Gantt chart. Complete with customizations like dependencies between events, custom colors for time blocks and custom icons for single-day events (“milestone”-like).
Ganttify is a Gantt chart add-on for web applications or services that can benefit from a Gantt view. My goal is to expand the number of integrations for Ganttify and release a new integration every month or so. If any of you have an interesting (niche or non-niche) idea to integrate Ganttify with feel free to contact me.
That reasoning does not make any sense. I spend $3-4k on a MBP and run it till it fall apart, usually 5-7 years later.
Don’t feed the trolls. This was your idea and you made something that works. Who cares if its (partially) done by AI. Whomever is taking offense by people using AI for coding, is just having a hard time adapting to the current state of affairs.
It’s here, it’s happening. Try the project, if you like it thats great, if you don’t then move on.
And if you don’t intent to try it for whatever reason that’s fine as well but don’t be salty to the OP for sharing their passion project.
I don’t know if you and I are looking at the same site because all I see is existing images being edited with GenAI.
Input: bald man Prompt: give bald man hair Output: edited original, now with hair
That looks like editing to me.
Or are we strictly adhering to the ‘generating new images’ definition because these models technically recreate the entire image? It would be like editing a photo in Photoshop. If you hit “Save” you edited the photo. But if you hit “Save As” and create a new file, the photo wasn’t edited but created as a new image?
Meanwhile, also Apple maps since launch: “sorry I cant get directions from A to B.”
It has NEVER given me directions. I live in a non-EU country and not in the US. Small island. It shows all the roads, shops and everything but for some arbitrary reason it won’t do navigation here.
Never touched it again since Google maps is perfect. (Aside from the occasional off-road routing).
It would be like a gameplay demo. Will show what it would be like but not interactive. Not uncommon, right?
That’s before installing dependencies.
Need to publish to the app store? I have precisely zero app store applications installed. All just downloaded DMGs from the vendor’s website.
So your name is Heureux and you happened to come across an IT company with exactly the same name?
What a funny coincidence.
Care to elaborate on this? I get that iOS is a closed system but I’ve never felt limited by Apple in what I can do with my Macbook.
I’m building Ganttify for a while now https://gantt-chart.com
The goals is to become THE Gantt chart add-on for anything. Currently works with Todoist, Basecamp and Trello. I’m struggling to find more markets.
It’s basically “Turn X into an editable timeline with syncing capabilities and dependencies”
Open to suggestions and ideas how I can make this take off.
I’m currently in the process of consolidating every integration into a single account. Previously (currently) it was “Ganttify for Trello” or “Ganttify for Basecamp”. It will become “Ganttify, connect one or more integrations to your liking”.
That might help simplify things for users I suppose.
But it burns a hole in your lap while doing so probably.
I guess thats personal preference because you’re describing exactly how I use both macOS and iOS.
I can’t be bothered by app icon locations or launchpad. Just CMD+Space and boom its there.
