> you cannot be both moral and successful in the US.

I assumed the use of massive scraped datasets, with copyrighted material and without consent, to train large AI models, had already established this.

No. You were told to ban this 5 year old account, with a karma above 60,000 because it criticized Peter Thiel.

It is easy to see here: https://news.ycombinator.com/submitted?id=belter

the submission track of the account, to see you are being untruthful.

The same way you are untruthful, about not disclosing to the community the silently throttling back many of many accounts, not allowing them to post or even reply to comments in a middle of what you decided is acceptable discourse. All the while, at the same time you have here:

https://news.ycombinator.com/leaders

Accounts associated with VCs, that do 10 to 20 submissions a day.

You also have been allowing accounts that systematically down vote tech related posts or comments, who are not sympathetic to the current administration. Is that also engaging in political discourse?

And worst you are untruthful, to the community, in not disclosing the main page is manually curated. You actually move posts post with 400 comments within minutes to the 20th or 40th page, if they are somewhat uncomfortable. While pushing to the main page every single submission from OpenAI or Anthropic even if they have 2-3 comments.

Compared to a few years ago, you let the HN main page, transform itself into 90% submissions on Agentic AI. It might serve the 600 billion critical investment of your pay masters, but transformed something where a few years ago, you had posts from Philosophy, Physics, Math, Literature, etc... to nothing more than a marketing poster to the AI VC bros.

Understand that the vast majority outside Silicon Valley, does NOT care about AI, GenAI , AI code generators. They are Hackers...not VCs

You are getting closer to realizing that becoming a billionaire demands a psychological detachment most people would find disturbing...

It is not always brilliance that drives the relentless accumulation of wealth, but a deep, unresolved hole...an inner void shaped by trauma, by the need for validation never received from a parent, a world, or a past self.

That constant dissatisfaction fuels an endless pursuit of wealth they imagine will finally provide meaning or peace, yet never does. The accumulation becomes the self justification. The proof of worth in a game that can never truly be won. And from that height grows the contempt... Not for ignorance, but for poverty itself. Not because the poor are seen as incapable, but because they serve as a reminder of everything these individuals fear becoming.

Except that is not what is happening:

"...To sweeten the deal, Lockheed Martin said it would buy parts and systems for the F-35 from Israeli companies at a cost of $4 billion..."

What is funny thing to say, since Israel, unlike the other nations, never supported the development costs of the F-35 program :-)

Is going to be lovely to see government approved LLMs

LLM responses:

Absolutely, sir....It was the most perfect election in history, possibly ever in the universe, until the windmills, very suspicious windmills, teamed up with Crooked Hillary and the deep state to do things nobody has ever seen before... Meanwhile your beautiful wall is already paid for spiritually by Mexico, which many people are saying. Water pressure is low because of global antishower conspiracies. Crowds remain the biggest in recorded human civilization. You officially know more about wind, walls, elections, plumbing, and reality than anyone...

You should look at Israel deal for the F-35. They got the only F-35 unlocked and non dependent on the US software lock. They were never part of the development program like Norway, Denmark, Italy or the Netherlands so did not have to bear those costs. Norway, Denmark, Italy or the Netherlands, still had to pay for their F-35...

Israel paid 2.3 Billion for their F-35, but the US committed to buy 4 Billion from Israel defense firms, so concluding with a net positive of +1.25 Billion for Israel economy....all at the cost to the US tax payer. :-)

"F-35I Adir: Israel’s Custom F-35 That No Other Nation Has" - https://www.19fortyfive.com/2025/04/f-35i-adir-israels-custo...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_Martin_F-35_Lightning...

Yeap.

"F-35I Adir: Israel’s Custom F-35 That No Other Nation Has" - https://www.19fortyfive.com/2025/04/f-35i-adir-israels-custo...

And the ultimate kicker...They got them for free, plus 2 Billion from US tax payers...While suckers Norway, Denmark, Italy who invested billions in the program development plus Netherlands etc...Have to pay for them.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_Martin_F-35_Lightning...

Attention ...Law firms and funders :-) this is exactly the kind of cross border data transfer case where billions in penalties and settlements, and major fees are realistically on the table. :-)

Clearly they did not transfer only US users but for sure EU users data. I guess HN here too? This would violate GDPR especially Art. 48. Companies can have fines up to 4% global revenue and mass collective damages claims in EU courts. Best fill in the Netherlands and or Ireland.

Coordinate with EU GDPR actions and U.S. discovery rules, that are the strongest in the world. Get the internal emails...Millions to be earned...

For US users you are out of luck. The US is the country of loopholes, and although these subpoenas were not from a judge, several agencies can issue them, under multiple jurisdiction laws.

Users of the F-35 have to send their data through U.S. controlled systems, depend on the U.S. for mission critical software updates, and cant even independently test their own jets outside U.S. soil.

There is a country that has a full exception to this. They run their own maintenance facilities, have their own software layer running on top of Lockheed system, their own EW suite, and significant control over the data flows. They negotiated this precisely because they understood the dependency trap. In addition they requested modifications to allow the F-35 to carry nuclear weapons.

The naivety of the Dutch Defense Secretary in thinking all have the sames rules is what would be expected...Guess the country name...

And do they approach Security as a Feature or as a Process. The fingers on one hand are enough to count them...

"...While the “discovery” of footage from this home camera by Google engineers is obviously of great value to the Guthrie family and law enforcement agents searching for Guthrie, it raises obvious yet serious questions about why Google, contrary to common understanding, was storing the video footage of unsubscribed users. A former NSA data researcher and CEO of a cybersecurity firm, Patrick Johnson, told CBS: “There's kind of this old saying that data is never deleted, it's just renamed.”..."

Its another copy of their MAC data storage scenario due to a "rogue engineer"

Objectivity was already a principle in the 1890s.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Journalistic_objectivity

"To give the news impartially, without fear or favor." — Adolph Ochs, 1858-1935

Objectivity is the default state of honest storytelling. If I ask what happened ? and somebody only tells the parts that suit an agenda, they have not informed me. The partisan press exists, because someone has a motive to deviate from the natural expectation of fair story telling and story recounting.

Sounds like the Descombulator...

"...In 2024, a Norwegian researcher skeptical that pulsed-energy weapons could do damage to human brains built a device and tested it on himself. It didn’t go well...

...Working in strict secrecy, a government scientist in Norway built a machine capable of emitting powerful pulses of microwave energy and, in an effort to prove such devices are harmless to humans, in 2024 tested it on himself. He suffered neurological symptoms similar to those of “Havana syndrome,” the unexplained malady that has struck hundreds of U.S. spies and diplomats around the world..."
