I've definitely noticed even more than that - any submissions painting the current USA in a good light are instantly and mercilessly buried (you can check my submissions for examples), while anything even remotely on the "USA bad" side gets to the top. It's really a sad state of affairs.

My reading might be wrong, but since 2020 there is no bad news that seems to faze the market by an iota.

Or maybe - because it's the bad news that sells - there is much more of the good (or neutral) news that outvalue the bad news, that is just unknown to you?

The best sarcasm is exactly the one where it could be interpreted as written and people misreading it is part of the fun.

Is it kind of a reverse Poe's Law?

Note that I'm all for the protection of trees - for pretty obvious environmental, esthetic, and human usage reasons. I just don't think recognizing trees as having their own rights as living beings makes any sense whatsoever.

Sadly, I don't think making sense matters for this kind of people.

Fun fact 1: "jihad" does not exist in Villeneuve's "Dune" adaptation.

Fun fact 2: what happens after The Butlerian Jihad? Return of the empire!

"A machine like this should not sit still. It should be pushed. Taken to the edge."

"Taken to the edge, and pushed off this edge. To garbage bin."
