I agree with that paleo approach to diet, and your conclusions. In my case my gastroparesis prevents me from eating any significant amount of fiber and diabetes II from eating many carbs. Meat is what's left. I tolerate beef best so eat it the most.

I think that the ease of digestion and my health improvements are evidence that this is an eating pattern that we're well adapted to.

I disagree. AI is becoming an increasingly important tool for telling stories, and making it harder to tell stories about true crimes and dead children is not a good thing. We need our full range of tools to think about and communicate about these horrors, as much as for anything else.

Ackman went after Gay for permitting Harvard antisemitism, which didn't get her removed. Others went after her for plagiarism, which led to her resignation. So other others went after Ackman's wife for plagiarism as a way to hurt the others. Ackman declared that family was out of bounds and that he will retaliate by doing a plagiarism review of the whole MIT faculty and the journalists who went after his wife.

If this conflagration continues ... it may have a positive effect on reducing plagiarism. But since LLMs can easily reword text, the plagiarism wars are more about the past than the future. Because now the plagiarism of concepts rather than phrases is cheap and easy and far less detectable.

Perhaps plagiarism review can move to detection of shared sequences of concepts rather than words.

Since a given niche can only support a given population size, aging reduces generation time by hitting a ceiling on population size. Some organisms get around this by spawning thousands of offspring and all but approximately one fails fast.

So that's an available trade-off. Increase individual age limits, but maintain adaptation rates by letting many immature individuals compete and die before maturity. Like spermatozoa and tadpoles.

The selfish genes control, and their survival is not perfectly aligned with either the individual or the species. If aging becomes too slow, adaptation slows, and successful genes become more rare and their propagation slows. Genes are replicators, replicators need turn-over to replicate, and greater age means slower turn-over.

It may be that the advent of cultural replicators have decreased the optimal turn-over rate of genetic replicators, but they don't know that.
