I extracted the zip, found the electron build folder, replaced a string in the minified code to launch Chrome on macOS correctly and ran electron-packager with the target being macos.

Patching electron apps is fairly common. You can take a look at Spicetify or BetterDiscord to see the process in more detail

That is clearly an altered image. The padding is inconsistent and the border radius on the highlighted text is wrong

Half of these are fake/satire. Look at the first one where the highlighted text colour should be white and not tinted red.

It has a lot of options, even allows you to search ONLY the Text/Title/URL and you can filter by usage right (free for personal/commercial use etc)

Interestingly it was last updated before material design was a thing. Maybe it's nostalgia but I love the design language of Google had before material injected padding everywhere.

This is likely very paranoid behaviour but I recommend downloading all your Google data from time to time: takeout.google.com

As you mentioned you like Alfred, why did you choose to build a standalone app as opposed to an Alfred extension? Since you use Electron: spinning up a browser every time I need a quick-launch bar seems a little overkill.

Anyway, the UI looks very neat! Starred the repo and will try playing with it.

Fetches (and parses) a ~93kB JSON file every 3 seconds along with the threejs stuff. No wonder it refuses to load on my mid-range android phone.

Unable to reproduce this on Chrome 118. I just ended up with an untitled bookmark.

Still interesting to look at Chromium's source to see that they have unit tests for bookmarklets [1]. Also looks like people "frequently" report running JS from bookmarks as an XSS vulnerability [2]

'Electronica' does not exist. Not as a genre or a description. It was coined by the North American music press to refer to the second wave of electronic music's explosion in the late 90s.

Nearly every popular act of the period -- Daft Punk, Moby, Fatboy Slim, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Basement Jaxx, Tricky -- were marketed as 'Electronica' at one time or another, but the person who really popularized it was Madonna and her shallow William Orbit-produced piss-poor attempt at appropriating trance music as something she invented (Ray of Light). But there really isn't any actual thing called Electronica. It's just a corporate buzzword.

Had no idea this existed and I'm grateful I came across this today. Clicked around a bit to see which Aphex Twin tracks were chosen — Xtal is there! Funny how typing "deadmau5" in the searchbar just returns "Who?". Reading the Info Panel for 8th Note Prog explains why that might be the case.

Loved reading through the Info Panels and the FAQs but the UI is a bit clunky to work with. Is there an official dataset? Would love to try my hand at building a different UI around it.
