100% agreed. There is no correlation between Obama and deflate -gate or Trump/Astros Scandal. They haven't rewrote in RN because it's unnecessary. Its not worth the engineering resources. There is so many things on the global product roadmap to build then rewrite something that already exists and works fine.

Like all software, RN is great for certain use cases. Just because someone isn't using it for X doesn't mean it also sucks for Y.

I love push notifications. Its honestly how I stay up to date on whatever is happening. I aint got time to scroll through everything

you act like whatever something is right now is the same in the future. It's quite possible they see RN as the future for all products and easing there way into things. Maybe they are struggling to find Java/Kotlin devs and have a surplus of Swift devs. So no, that does not really just say it all.

All I can is, as a RN Developer, I love it. I love being able to use 1 language for both app platforms. The RN community is amazing. Many of the comments here talking about outdated packages were likely burned by RNs early days when it was <0.40. RN has come along way since then. Its been a while since I ran into an issue updating packages or couldn't find a lib for something I needed. There is also great resources when you want to handroll something yourself.

Migrating an existing native stack to RN might not be the answer, but anyone looking to get their startup off the group should consider RN. Its fast development and converting a React web dev is super easy.

What kind of components/widgets are you referring to? RN has a lot built in and then there are a good number maintained by the community. As far as custom UI components I know some people use libs like NativeBase but I handroll my own

Coming from a web background, React Native made the most sense for me. Since I started using it a year ago, I absolutely love it. Great community with constant updates from Facebook, tons of articles/blogs/courses on how to learn it and there hasn't been a single feature Ive wanted to build but couldn't due to some lib restriction

I've been on dozens of different teams at small and big companies and agile implementation has been different on every team I've been on. It has a good way way of just being a template and teams usually implement their own style to make things work for that unit. For that reason I think agile will be around for a while.

There is no magic bullet for PM. The truth is estimating how long X feature will take is hard. Its hard for product managers to for see everything and this leads to incomplete requirements. Which leads to inaccurate estimates and pushed out timelines. Even when requirements are fairly thought through, things always come up that no one saw. Shit happens. The key to being a great PM is making sure the team is always working on whats most important and then managing expectations with senior leaders. Takes some blunders to fine tune that skill though.

Yep, agreed on that. Over time I have smoked less and less. Like i said I don't think I'll ever 'quit' but I imagine the time in between seshes will grow longer. All in all cannabis has been very net positive for me

I totally agree with you. In my comment I wasn't trying to say the article was false, just my own experiences weren't negative. Some of my closest friends that I smoked all day with in HS never went to college and work in lower wage/service industry jobs.

Also to be fair, I was an awful student. However i was always the type that if I didn't want to do something, nothing could get me to do it. Yet when I want to do something, I tend to have pretty positive results. I still think I would have been a terrible student even if I didn't smoke weed. Who knows!

Ive smoked for about 15 years now. Started heavy through highschool and college and after college usually just a rip before bedtime. I cant say I've experienced anything negative. No issues focusing or memory problems, or dealing with stress/anxiety. I've quit for months at a time cold turkey with no issues. I'll probably never fully quit but I am doing it less just cause I worry about the effects on my lungs more than anything.
