Yeah, it's very cool, I found a rather interesting document on the chemistry to create a lippmann plate 'The True Colour of Photography' by 'Hans I. Bjelkhagen, Darran P.M. Green' seems their exposure times where in the order of minutes.
Sounds very interesting. Just started looking at the paper, which seems very complex to me "An alternative approach utilizes light absorption via localized surface plasmon resonances (LSPRs) of noble metal nanoparticles (NPs)".
I came across https://www.nano-resonance.com/ which appears to be the promotional page for the technique, it has a nice diagram which appears to show how the size of the silicon nanoparticle enhances certain wavelengths of light.
Very cool how they can use an inkjet printer for their approach.

I remember speaking to ALPA at a photo show, from what I recall the cameras also have very fine metal shims to align the camera to a digital back.
Do they manufacture the optics themselves too? Not sure I realised that.

Trying to visualise magnetic fields of a floppy disk.
So far I can see magnetic fields on a magstripe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8nM4Z-hkTw with two polarisers (one of which I rotate in the video, which is contained in a 3D printed holder with gears I made).
I'm awaiting some different polariser film, to see if I can get it to work with a floppy disk.

I intend to try to use with a floppy disk, however it's not currently working for that.
It's super useful, been using with my 3D printer to print things such as an adapter to connect a Canon EF lens to night vision tube and parts to link motorised linear stages together.
Currently I'm playing with a gear library which is part of BOSL2 (https://github.com/BelfrySCAD/BOSL2/wiki/gears.scad), to make something to rotate a polariser in my microscope.

Since as far as I understand the UV light also acts as a mutagen, wonder if you could potentially create some interesting new yeast strains for brewing.
It might also be interesting to use a dye to highlight dead cells.

Hmm, does seem pretty expensive but sounds interesting. I've got an old Canon FS4000 for 35mm, which works ok for me. I'm curious what people recommend for 4x5 film.

A linear scanning mechanism would be a lot faster still than the XY approach.
I'm very curious how expensive sensors are though, that capture this data in a single shot, I've not seen any prices so far.
