That and the other native stuff (ios, android, the 10 windows layout languages) is not really any easier. UIs are tough to do well.

Always fun to see a new UAV startup. Did you use an open source autopilot (like ardupilot, PX4, Paparazzi, etc) or build something internally?

The microservices knowledge is the interesting stuff and transfers to the more complex hard to maintain things people build elsewhere. The infra stuff is generally toil you can figure out if you must. Keep at it or look for places using better infrastructure abstractions. (ok ok, I worked on CF so biased but feel your pain)

I think long term the java spring stuff will shoe horn you more than CF stuff but there’s plenty of work there.

Typical credit card transactions fees range from 1.5-3.5 percent so the 2 percent is not a terrible deal and businesses usually just eat it in retail and work it into the prices.

Usually there is language in the contract with the processor agreement that prevents businesses from charging different prices for credit card vs non credit card buyers.

I don’t agree with this. Once it starts to click a bit, if you enjoy it, it’s not hard to make progress. Build things that excite you and keep at it. Don’t just study for the sake of studying - create things you want to use. Take the leap before you think you’re ready (waiting was my mistake) and apply for things that might be challenging or you feel you’re under qualified for.

There are multiple ways to deploy concourse but the components are just go binaries when it comes down to it.

Yeah, they suck though. We do weekly at home PCR testing too and everyone is fully vaccinated so the masks are a little excessive but I guess better to be safe for now. They could, you know, make it easier for their employees to work on open source… What they really want is open source talent with inbuilt influence over the projects they are strategically interested in or dependent on.

They really need to build a board with a built in slot for NVMe 2 storage. Running stuff off an sd card is a data loss nightmare and upgrading with aftermarket NVMe stuff is annoying.

Suggest powering off devices when you get pulled over etc. This forces a passcode when they boot up in most cases now.

On iPhone now you don’t even have to power off. It’s enough to just get to the power off swipe screen and passcode will be required to unlock again when you hit cancel.

Take some of that money and pay for some therapy and talk about this stuff. Not meant to be a flippant comment - it’s genuinely the best thing you could do for yourself and your wife in this situation. Be prepared to fire therapist that don’t click though. Also, try and renegotiate commitments you’ve made to yourself and people in your personal and professional life. You can improve your situation!
