Everything on Wikipedia is interesting to someone... what I'm interested in the most right now is what the purpose of this "experiment" was and how it ended up infiltrating the front page.

I think you mean that it can be difficult for most companies to find qualified candidates, for example software developers. I've heard many people complain that they can't find good coders, or any coders at all in some cases.
I tried an empty string with no luck (had to enable the form button first).

Wouldn't it be easier to change what time you go to work than to change the clocks?
I for one think the entire world should switch to one time zone...
This could just as easily be a result of being "raised" on international chat rooms. If they're really smart then they would purposefully mask their identity by using words and sentence structure uncommon in their usual communications.
What is so mystifying about this?
Doing this:
"cat << EOL
line one
line two
EOL"
Would be the same as this:
"cat < file"
That is if 'file' contained this:
"line one
line two"
This doesn't work with the echo command because it does not use stdin like cat does.
I couldn't get past this sentence: "If it costs you more to get a customer then you can possible make from them, your business is going to fail."

The worst part about this is you're arguing that programmers should learn business directly after stating that you argue about business managers not needing to learn programming... Seriously where is your logic sir?
Maybe you can write an article about why you think business managers do not need to learn programming (something I would agree with as a programmer), and make sure you have it edited before posting.
I have a "motivation" playlist on Spotify, the songs either have lyrics which are either motivating or non-existent. I find while coding or writing that lyrics can get in the way too so I have some playlists which are focused on purely lyric-free songs...
