For me, perfect example why not move to SPA in 2017 is Freshbooks, I'm their active user and found that their new version(introduced recently) is slow, initial load slow (very), transitions between tabs is slow etc. Personally I dont see the reason they moved to SPA (they using Ember framework which I heard very optimized in compare other frameworks(not libraries as React))
Open source it. I'v open sourced my bulk email sender for Mac https://github.com/alex3t/Bulky about year ago and after that I got more purchases, but unfortunatelly only one fork from customer who want to customize the app
Wedding planning app for Mac - Weddinglan(http://weddinglan.com) About $800 per month, but hope for more profit after next version which will include also iPad version
Point me please discussion where talking "programming experience does not matter". It's completely stupid. Who in normal mind talking about this? Of course programming language experience does not matter but programming experience..
Come on, what wrong with you guys? Author even removed his post. Who interested can find it in google cache: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?sourceid=chrome... Are you all like these amature websites which looks like clones? Personally I will go away from site based on unchanged Bootstrap CSS. Bootstrap as product is good but people using it wrong, the big problem 95% not change default Bootstrap theme.
Asus Zenbook UX31 has same weight and size but more powerful. But personally I will buy Air next generation(15^)
Same on google.ru and others European sites
Forget about desktop. Its really hard make money if you are novice. Start from from mobile(cocos2d as already suggested is good helper in your way)
Yes, there are many opportunities for you as indie developer. first is app store ofcource, but please read first stories from iphonedevsdk.com/forum business section about 6 months development and more then $5000 spending and $100 profit at end. Second is flash games market, you can get up to $20k per game from sponsors if you are experienced game developer or about $500 if you are unknown. Third is android market, same as ios market but less money(successful game apps more ads oriented then apps in apple marketplace)
agree. Last time when I thought about MVC was interview years ago(hope nobody today ask same questions). As Rails developer with 4 years experience, I'm not care now about these things, I'm care about product.
I cant understand what this post doing here(HN)?
For me, as ex freelancer, all clear: $10-20 for so called programmer from Asia(China, India) $20-$30 for russian or east European programmer with CS degree $60 for programmer from England >$60 US PS: prices for Ruby devs, it can be different for iOS or Java
Macbook Pro over then 3 years but plan buy iMac(performance is better for me, I want keep open: RubyMine(for ror projects), AppCode(for iOS)(both java based apps) + mysql server + postgres server, also chrome with 10-20 tabs + firefox(for development I like firebug) + skype etc)

Yes, why I should open source my patient management app if I sure that 99% of nearby doctors never agree cure me for free..
looks like great tool but has many bugs as any search not work also some times strange results. What tool it used for keyword research, wordtracker?
I got Access Restricted page What is mean exactly? Yes, I can fill captcha for access but page dont looks friendly, specially I sure that my machine clean from viruses.
4 years ago worked on Windows, when tried Ubuntu and after that Mac, I never return back. I cant understand how LAMP or Rails developers working on win machines, I'v 2 XP running computers at home and using them only for gaming(very rare)
I also dont see problem there. I think it's SEO problem of StackOverflow
Agree with thomaspaine. I'm freelancer and working on others projects takes most of my time
