Plenty of other people aren’t having success though. Maybe it’s the tool.

I did. It was still Claude that’s the problem

You can do that too. Start working locally, then just do /handoff to transfer your session to the cloud and then work through the Codex app on your phone.

I’ve found that Claude is very literal. When I talk to 5.5 it gets what i want it to do, when I talk to Opus 4.8 it does what I say literally and doesn’t get the intent behind it.

Same here - gave 5.5 a web design to implement and it sucked. Gave the same to Fable and it still sucked.

They’ve addressed that. Codex in the ChatGPT app on iOS is way better than Claude Code now.

You sign in the Codex app on your Mac same on iOS and are able to completely control your sessions - fork, side chats, plugins - everything.

It’s really great i often work through it. And you can connect any number of Codex instances on any number of macs and then manage them all through the iOS app.

Would be interesting to see how this affects the service companies.

Typically for a project you’d have something like 1 senior, 1-2 mid and 2-3 juniors and sell the team to the client.

The junior/mid is where the margins are, as seniors knew their value and commanded a bigger salary with little margin for profit, but juniors aren’t paid as much, yet you can still comfortably bill the client.

Nowadays it’s 1-2 seniors for the whole thing and the service company is expected to pay for the tokens the seniors use to replace the lucrative juniors, so it’s a double hit for the company.

+1

Used to have an “academy” where we pick people up from first year in uni and get them to learn from zero.

Haven’t had one in ~3 years, no plan to.

Also half the company was downsized.

No hiring in 3 years, cutting tons of people and tons of people leaving, we’re now at a point where in the tech i work in, our most junior person is a senior with about 10 YoE

Nice, waiting to see what they’ll market as “the feature” for when they run ads outside of the US

Don’t they say it runs on device? Then why not?

And they’ll be compensated more than fairly for the 60 hours, including double overtime, right? Right?

This is capitalism, my dude, people don’t work at your company, because it’ll cure cancer or something, they do it for the compensation.

And for those that do work there 60 h/week out of blind loyalty - you deserve the thousands of layoffs they’ve had the past years.
