I use this - pain in the ass but it works. https://github.com/tom-englert/RegionToShare
Redmond only
South shore of Alamdea CA has this and it’s great. My kids called them the “secret paths.”
Can you estimate what proportion of fraud is automated/bot/scripted versus manual human interaction? Do you rely much on botnet detection or IP reputation?
Card testing doesn’t require a purchase, fraudsters can validate a card by adding it to an online wallet. The retailer will send a $0 authorization to the bank.
Fraud happens across all transaction amounts, what do you think people use the cards for once they buy or guess a valid card?
Call it Blazor weirdness then. This obviously wasn’t a swipe at Microsoft being closed, just a point that Blazor stuff is not general standard web stuff.
Embrace, Enhance, Extinguish for those unfamiliar.
Uhh Yeah Dude is one of the very first podcasts (est Feb 2006). Zero ads.
People are conflating consistency of a design system with consistency of ux metaphors. I worked on the team that built the new home page dashboard and my experience with the components and associated guidance was excellent.
It is not the fault of the design system that service teams, for example, created 5 different interactions for deleting a resource.
AWS leaned hard into building as many services as possible, at the expense of console ui consistency. There is now a swing back toward consistency, and I expect to see more improvements at the "consistent metaphors" level soon.
Wellbutrin is an NDRI, not an SSRI.
I wonder how much energy we waste on pedantry.
We contain multitudes too. Inconsequential, no - a node in the fractal seat of consciousness.
Another, better-written take on this: https://www.thecut.com/2020/02/spread-of-corporate-speak.htm...
Where exactly can I find this in Windows' Task Manager? I don't see it as a column on the Details pane...
You should be using OnPush everywhere, then your struggle will change to only getting changes detected in certain scenarios. Still a pain sometimes but not as bad as the Default change detection strategy.
None of those definitions mean "disclosure," which is certainly what was meant.
What are you disclaiming?
You could replace .NET core in this comment with any $framework and see plenty examples of developers misusing a tool.
We use .NET core in production and are very happy. A mixture of EF Core (for ad-hoc queries) and Dapper (for stored procs) works just fine. Also, new in EF Core 2.1, you can map views and stored procs just fine: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/ef/core/modeling/query-type....
That's your only specific example - what other functionality are you missing?
You're not willing to commit to .NET core but you admit that NetFx is going into maintenance mode?
You said "no one else makes" them...
I think they meant "high-quality cherry-switched keyboard," referring to the quality of the keyboard, not the switches.
Regardless, Cherry switches are absolutely high quality - they are manufactured out of premium materials to tight specifications.
You may not prefer their feel for your purposes, but as others have said, that's a different story.
This is an insanely privileged thing to say though. The problem, in your mind, is that you have to see sick people, not that there are sick people who need help.
Metafilter has just about the highest groupthink quotient of any site I know of. Every single post ends up being about social justice, even when it isn't.
I could have written this paragraph about 15 months ago, at the tail end of attempting to manage my depression with various cocktails of research dissociatives and nootropics.
I've been sober for over a year, and it's now amazing to me how completely terrible my self-perception was. I was laser-focused on measuring my mood and focus and completely blind to my intensely addictive substance use. I made a lot of dangerous choices. The same substances that can heal in small doses are recreational in large ones, and it takes a lot of self control to stay on the right side of the line.
I have had a lot of experience with psychedelics, stimulants, cannabis, and dissociatives. I respect the substances and value my experiences greatly. I believe there is no bad drug, just bad uses of drugs.
Here is a message I wrote to The Listserve in the middle of my using: https://thelistservearchive.com/2016/03/27/methoxetamine-dip...
And here's one I wrote after about 8 months of sobriety: https://thelistservearchive.com/2017/10/16/oblivion/
As a scary anecdote, that's not very scary.
What the parent describes is not ego death - that is meant much more literally - loss of a sense of self and dissolution of the barrier between one's identity and the rest of existence.
"changes in the brain" is too vague to be useful.
Post Acute Withdrawal Syndrome (PAWS) is supposedly a thing that can last months, but it's just an observation of a collection of symptoms - no analysis of a specific mechanism causing it that I have seen.
I see "helps me work" used pretty often as a rationalization for drug use that's actually a coping mechanism.
