Sorry I may of missed your point? As a lot of right wing commentary (not saying that you are right wing) suggest when talking about LGBTQ they bring up child pornography alot. Why are you doing so as well?
Dems != left. Dems can be centre right. Driving a Tesla makes you left wing? Pro drugs people can be Pro drugs on the right. He doesn't like antifa, which if you look at it antifa is disregarding or opposite of fascism. If you're not anti-fascist you are sitting on the fence and are silent, so are siding with the fascists.
Ok I'm back. I'm European so probability is I see political spectrum slightly different to US sees it. In most interviews I have watched he's very down to earth in not supporting any left wing policies. He hates antifa which for me means you are silent when fascism comes crawling. I would categorise him as center. Don't call me right wing, well don't allow them to spread shit on your show and argue against it.
Days old account and little karma?
Don't spread misinformation about people, JR is not in any way left wing. He's centrist, libertarian, pushing on the right.
That site supported a Nazi in his efforts to highten his terrorist attack.
Sooo... where are all the people against the Chinese on this thread?
Are you serious? EU citizen here. US has a two party state (where one is deadpan centrist and the other right wing). EU has a whole host of political parties from far right to far left. It's the most diverse political landscape. That could potentially mean it's much more democratic than the US. I wish more US citizens cared more about the outside world than they did about their selves.

That page is the link to the interactive site.
This is a ridiculous suggestion. There is never a huge amount of posts that criticize the US gov, so it doesn't get enough viewing time even though there are a huge amount of horrendous actions the US are doing and elsewhere (UK etc).
Banning comments about whataboutism? LMAO. Censorship because people comment about how bad the US are? And youre bothered about Chinese ruling?
Wow, this thread makes me want to delete my account. People of the US are way too scary for my liking, makes me never want to land in your country. For me, if US doesnt stop playing the world cop position the worse this world will get.
what about a hard line stance on Saudi (on Yemen) and Israel (on Palestine), China is obviously doing horrible acts but countries that US are supporting are doing equally horrible actions.
The core problem is that you could put any country in there. USA think they have freedom to do what they please because of their economic and military power. Britain thinks they can leave and have a better time out of the EU etc. All countries are ruthless. Some do it a pleasant but deceiving way the others do it out in the open. At least with China you get to see what and how they are implementing it. US you don't. Who's more secretive?
Tax payers could come under that bracket I suppose? Most uni degrees will help out the US economy (thats all they think about) one way or another.
Yeah completely the left from US like AOC, Bernie and Gravel are centre left at best. I am disgusted of China and others but at the same time I'm disgusted at the papers and media not talking about US, UK and many others surveillance states.
Thankfully I am not British. Both are loud and obnoxious in their own way. Just find people from Europe more tolerable.
For one thing, Chinese culture is quite alien to western culture, and I don't mean that in a judgmental way, just that their spoken, written and body language is so much different that it is automatically harder for them. It doesn't help that they are told by the educational system and state media how great China is and how bad the US.
This is like me studying in the UK, meeting or bumping into US students. Very loud, aggressive because they cant handle alcohol, very arrogant. It also doesn't help that they are told by their educational system and gov that they are the greatest, the land of the free and can do what ever they please if they 'work' hard for it. Also how the US is the master nation of the world, that they are the world police.
It's fine, there is a certain collective on HN that do not believe or want to even google United States and the past dealings with the middle East and South America.
America is not the world - Morrissey
For me having a huge amount of charitable organizations mean that governments have failed. As a world.
It is that way somewhat, but then on the other hand you have the USA who think they are the police of the whole world, the brute enforcers. Both situations are very bad.
Definitely, authoritarian regimes are scary but it seems like we are already verging on one with surveillance capitalism.
Also similar maybe not as in depth situations are made in the UK, US and others. Not just China.
Because you get paid to do the work, if a person X comes up to you and offers Y amount to do certain tasks which may be seen to be unethical or gross but the Y amount is significant. It's the programmer that chooses.
It really does, if you look at different engineering companies like Rolls Royce whilst the military takeover in Chile, a group of engineers in Scotland stopped working because they knew where their product was being sold too. HN seems to think that Programmers can and should get away with everything. Disturbing to say the least.
I think we are on the same page
Top comments, shock people cant feel good about something because it didnt happen to them. I was hoping for some uplifting commentary but like all other social media sites HN is going down a bad path.
Wow, this thread is funny as hell.
Is this valuable time for researchers
Wow, this is such a boring idea
