Accidentally took a wrong turn and drove over this once and had to cop a toll despite turning back around afterwards. Was well worth it for the experience though!

There’s a large spectrum between skiing on an uncrowded slope alone, a crowded beginner trail, hucking cliffs and backcountry in avy prone terrain.

I don’t think the risk profile can be all lumped together.

Much in the same way that cycling on the road has a different risk profile to on a bike path vs downhill or freeride mountain biking.

The opening paragraph reads "Today, we're excited to announce D1, our first SQL database." read: first

and well R2 and D2 would make for a great naming scheme.

My dad has done it twice and I believe the first time (56:13:00) he didn't sleep at all. The second time, 12 years later was 70:21:00.

Congrats on the ride! I still don't quite understand what it takes to be able to push through beyond what most people would consider immense fatigue.

Did you find it harder physically or mentally?

Thanks for a helping me score a few great deals over the years!

I’ve always been curious, how much % of your traffic is from the ozbargain posts compared to people coming to the site directly?

Also is there much to be made on affiliate commission on flights or is it just optimistically hoping for hotel/car reservations?

Can you shed any light on what the codebase is like?

Using it feels like there are two seperate templating libraries and apps that are serving different routes. Is there any truth to this?

Those of you that work in DevOps, SRE or are CTOs.

What kind of things do you put in place to manage these kind of centralised issues that are beyond your control?

Things seem to have come back online in Australia, although not sure if that's just sites switching over their DNS?

I was at a club in Tokyo 2 years ago and Pedro played a set for a couple of hours there.

Later on that night, I saw him on the other room’s dancefloor soaking up an 8 hour set from Laurent Garnier. He’s in it for the music.

Does anyone know of a hosted Clickhouse service?

I'd like to use Clickhouse but on a very small team without an ops person, it feels like a liability managing a server ourselves.

This was what was sent to us:

Your account has been upgraded to Stripe Billing for free. No matter how much revenue you process on Stripe, you’ll get unlimited use of Billing’s Starter plan included in the price you currently pay for payments. All new features are available in your account now, no API version upgrade necessary.

If Stripe pushed ahead forcing an additional 0.5% with no new features adopted, that's pretty predatory and the kind of rent seeking that will leave a bad taste in a lot of people's mouth which then when starting new projects won't be looking to adopt Stripe with the same passion they did years ago.

This is infuriating. I've been told so many times that it's 'coming'. 5% of top line revenue is pretty significant and now an added 0.5% feels like a slap in the face.

Braintree have offered it for years so this might be the final motivation to switch over.

It's been around 7 or 8 years with Stripe now and it just seems like they are prioritising heavily increasing their average revenue per user at all costs.

Tried this out in early access and wanted to love and use it however a few things that made it not workable:

* wildcard subdomains aren't supported.

* Only CNAMEs to digital ocean's CDN are supported (can't have an A record).

* There was no way to run a console command.

* Bandwidth is 12x higher than usual droplets and unlike standard droplets there isn't an included bandwidth pool.
