Been using GrapheneOS as daily driver for 4 years on three pixels. Problems only start when banking apps start actively sabotaging it by pretending the phone is rooted etc. Normal apps work normally and you get way more control over them. I'll never go back to stock or worse than stock (Samsung) as long as GrapheneOS is around even if they get rid of all security aspects (which of course they won't, I'm just saying security is not the only selling point, de-googling is a big one too.. I didn't de-google but I sure like having the option)

In practice it's of course not so simple. Every truck that passes you (or that you pass) will suck you right in if your tow vehicle isn't heavy enough or you don't have good enough grip. Also, (RV/drum) trailer brakes suck so hard that you really want a vehicle with some additional stopping power other than regular brakes (heavy duty transmission, big engine, and diesel exhaust or compression brake). E-brakes work well so there the e-assist trailer has a real advantage if it can do that but you'll have to get used to the feeling of being pulled back rather than leading the stop... So evy 6.7l diesel I tow a big RV and e-assistance would be very welcome but costs likely drastically reduce the attractiveness of such a system for an RV. For a trailer that's constantly on the road I can definitely see a use case but it's not to be towed by a (comparatively) tiny car

The project doesn't seem to be about enforcing philosophies on how to form or what do to with land but providing an objective assessment. Your statement depends on whose perspective you take. I don't disagree from a health standpoint and I think even economically this GMO all you can out of a piece of dirt is not long term viable but others disagree.. Don't like it, don't buy it. It indeed looks like the rest are "you're the product" (tm) type apps. Honestly, I don't expect much from Play Store (or App Store for that matter) these days but as a developer it's terrible what hoops you have to go through to publish your app.. Endless forms to fill out manually and then the overall store quality is just disappointing. Ads, ads, more ads and privacy and security debacles. Now it also looks like locking down on outside app stores like F-Droid.. Developers and hackers will find solutions but for the general population I'm not very hopeful. As to the period apps:

When you come as a non-immigrant, you agree to not stay permanently. If you want to stay (because life happens and the US is a great country after all) you go through the proper channels. That may mean exiting for the duration of the process - that's entirely legitimate given the amount of abuse. No reason to invoke "hate" of any kind to justify the need for the policy. I know it's not the popular view here on HN and anti-HN-mainstream views get downvoted really fast. Think about that if you value democracy.

What I do notice is a clearly liberal HN bubble that does not represent the country I see and the people I talk to and I'm not selective. j/k, but I'm pretty sure you could substitute "AI" with a few other keywords here that a lot of people use/depend on: Govt, Healthcare, Social Security, Airport security, heck maybe even science.

The real question is how do you scale something without eroding trust. Transparency has to be part of it but I doubt that it's the only piece of the puzzle and no matter how good your intentions are, there are always people that will refuse their trust (I'm not judging, it's just a fact). As a distributed systems person, I think systems in general work best when they can deal with mistrust and people choose to rather than being forced to use your system to solve their problems. AI is not there yet.

Cool idea. Time will tell how it matures. It doesn't look trivial. Definitely should beat my current "scan the history" approach. Couple questions arose while reading the README:

- Would it integrate with rtk? Rtk is a token saver that shortens native output of got (and other) commands. - Does it track feature branches? - Is there garbage collection when history is rewriting (rebase before PR or removal of credential files.. ) or "simplification" of data as it gets older (Claude session logs lost...)?

Agree. Love latex and LLMs made it a lot more accessible but DX wise it's still a huge hassle, esp when it feels that it's easier to just generate HTML and PDF it from there.. I mean the best workflow is probably to write markdown, take a site you like, pick a color scheme and have Claude do the transformation along with a script to make it repeatable
